I am in absolute agreement with you. I saw Dinesh interviewed on one of the endless pundit shows and rolled my eyes as he blamed 9/11 on liberal Americans.
Of course this is a fascinating change from blaming Bill Clinton for everything the neocons disagree with. I had been waiting for them to blame the Civil War and Pearl Harbor on Clinton. Since Clinton turned out to be a free trade NAFTA demagogue with no guilt, I see the right wing needed to find another scapegoat - the liberal American educated middle class.
Will we ever impeach and try these neo-nutcases who think God ordained them to start foolish wars, ruin our country and steal our freedoms?

In the last few weeks I have heard this guy D’Souza on NPR, AirAmerica and read a ridiculous column he wrote, I believe for the New York Times, saying that calling Bush a liar for his lies before and since the war, is a lie! How in God’s name can he be considered one of conservatisms’ brightest minds?! And why does he have any credibility at all?? These people have no shame, they will continue to spew the same nonsense over and over and various media (who should know better) continue to give them the opportunity!
Ted, not enough folks are making the argument that Iraq is just like Viet Nam, well almost. Like Nam, we’re there because of Oil and like Nam are stated reason for being there is a ruse. In Nam it was the “communists.” In Iraq, it’s the “Al Queda,” and “Terrorists.” Moreover, in Nam we lost about 50,000 and a generation of patriotism. Now, as I understand the numbers, we’ve permanently lost just over 3,000. However, there are at least 27,000, or more, who are seriously wounded, most of whom will not recover and countless others who will suffer serious post traumatic stress syndrome. Of course, to have fewer dead and more seriously wounded, our financial costs for superior equipment, etc, is much higher. If we would invest a fraction of the money we have squandered over there into this country we might have a chance at a bright future. Instead, we are marching toward doomsday and financial ruin. The biggest difference, I see, however, is that in Nam, congress never declared war. In Iraq, our beloved congress sold the country down the river and so far doesn’t seem to be able to get it back. Now, within a few months, da Monkey Furor will invade Iran and will have played the ultimate trump card and will have another excuse not to pull us out of the quicksand he’s gotten us into.
And why is NPR — or any other media outlet–paying attention to these idiots’ faith-based reasoning?
Because while few were paying attention NPR has added a whole crew of administration apologists, all too eager to justify any government action.

I almost smacked my radio listening to that stupid rant by D’Souza. Unfortunately, NPR has become the mouthpiece of the White House.
I now call “All Things Considered” “Small Things Considered.”
