   I was very skeptical about the reports of this”battle”, especially since there seemed to be women and children involved and it was a previously unknown group. Is this what the “surge” is all about–just more bloodshed to show that we are “winning” against the insurgents? It’s so horrifying.

   I think this sort of thing is what the world must come to expect from the United States from now on, or at least until the nation regains its sanity and sends its criminal leadership to trial before an international tribunal. The Iranians will be attacked, for no good reason, but merely to appease the psychopathic egos running this country. And Bush and friends will only be stopped if the Iranians bloody American troops as badly as American troops have bloodied the civilians in Irag. It’s certain that the American Congress won’t put a stop to this, not while the Republicans have any say. And the Democrats haven’t the balls to call a lie a lie and a liar a liar and a criminal president a disgrace who should be hauled into the street and handed over to the Iraqi citizenry, or locked in a padded room for the rest of his life and fed gruel. America is a sick, sick country and the harm it will cause the world may have only just begun.

   Let’s show the same skepticism about this report as about the original version. This version seems plausible, but so does the story as we’ve heard up until now. It seemed odd hundreds of militia could be sitting outside Najaf and be missed until a battle started, but given the incompetence so frequent since the occupation began, I can believe it. There are also apocalyptic believers among the Shia, and we’ve seen people of an apocalyptic faith engage in this sort of mass hysteria before, like Jonestown and Waco. Until more facts come in, it makes more sense to think it through. The Independent account does better explain how the battle could be unexpected, and why Shia were fighting a hopeless battle against the Iraqi army. Also the refusal of Iraqi authorities to allow press access to survivors seems odd.

   Nothing surprises me anymore. I don’t put anything past what this government will do in the name of greed, power and control.

   As far as I am concerned this great country of mine was established on bloodshed. First it was the Native Americans, then the Blacks, then those who were considered Witches. All this country has done is become more deadly with the most WMD’s in the world.

   The government will take what they want, when it wants and anyone that doesn’t like it becomes the enemy. Iraqi’s have now become victims of this country’s greed for oil. Perhaps Iran is next. What is most important to this country is winning. These people don’t have a soul. They are dead inside.

   This country can’t hide it’s stats. The highest rate of crime and rape, divorce. The seconded highest in child poverty.

   I don’t know what happened. I wasn’t there. But since CNN & others have been running the “Mahdi Army is Crazed” segment non-stop since this story came out without giving us any actual on-the-ground news reports and the place is being sealed off — I can only guess what happened!!

   All these “American” news outlets have been tacitly cheering on “America’s New Global Revolution” since “The Event”, and whether to the left or right, have been indirectly apologizing for anything that “The Beast” has been executing because, lest we forget, America is the poor victim in all this. Yeah sure!! Tell that to the third world!! They have suffered the wrath of the gentiles ever since the beginning of time almost and know that whatever he says is lies — again, whether from the left or right.

   The biggest fools here are first the Americans and then the rest of us gentiles for believing anything any side says. Americans, because they only have a two-sided political sharing system (mommy & daddy) who actually work in tandem and therefore nullify each other which makes for a one-party state (parents). The rest of us gentiles (cousins) for, although we see it more clearly, not wanting to anger Uncle Sam and have him take away his protective umbrella and huge pockets.

   The only sustainable solution here is for us to divorce the rest of our immediate family and join the larger one all around us (not gentiles but humans). We just might learn something from our extended cousins!!

   If it wasn’t so tragic, I’d actually be laughing my head off right now at how ridiculous the system is and how pathetic you all are for debating it over by believing one side or the other.

   Okay, so I strayed off from the original subject. But does that make anything I said false? CNN & others would probably be convincing you otherwise!!

   It is impossible for those not present to know the details of what took place in this horrible situation. We do know that the “democracy” in which we live has continuously lied to us, often using FOX and CNN to convey their message. Those in power in the states have lost our trust and confidence. Often our arrogance and violent actions are eventually verified through none US sources, meanwhile innocent women and children are dying and the US taxpayer is furnishing the military endless funds to continue.

   Hmm, Let’s see, was there evidence of Mossad there? I’ve seen some really interesting “shots”, ( no pun intended), of sniper fire on US “liberators” that show recoil on the camera. The only one of it’s kind is used by Israeli storm troopers. All joking aside, Bush lied to get us there and the only ones benefiting are US corporations. So, in my opinion, EVERYTHING that happens there is the fault of the US sheeple allowing their “leaders” to go nuts.

   I suspect the “truth” will come out soon from the Arabic press. The related issue that really bothers me is the mania about “supporting the troops”! If your son or daughter voluntarily joined a gang and slaughtered hundreds of people, would you support them? Do we support the troops who did the evil deeds at Abu Graib? What they’re doing, albeit under orders from a bunch of insane white men, is unlawful and wrong! If we insist on “supporting” them, let’s bring them home!

   General Buddha to Paschn: Mossad?? I mean I know what they are capable of and I cannot disprove this little theory either, but the only evidence you seem to show us for this is that you’ve seen recoil on film from sniper riffles that they use. Hello?? All guns recoil!! As for the “kind used by Israeli storm troopers” — what model? At least name what you have seen. I see AK-47’s used by all sides there. Oooh!! That must be a Russian plot to arm both sides!! But having said that and knowing what the Mossad are capable of, I’ll admit that it may be plausible.

   This is too funny!!

   But your last phrase is self-evidently true. Although I cannot bring myself to condone any type of violence, for this would just give “Big Brother” more reasons to enact more draconian laws and present me (and other open-eyed truth seekers) as “Goldsteins” to the lemmings of Oceana. But yeah, they are creating their own sick karma which they sadly deserve in the eyes of universal laws of cause and effect.

   I say pacify yourselves if you want to pacify the rest of them. Call me ridiculous if you will, but you have to admit that, although seemingly unrealistic a proposal, it is the only sustainable solution. All else only begets more of the same.

    Hello:

    Either scenario is horrible. I can’t imagine living in such a place where gunfire and violence regularly breaks out.

    I don’t understand how the aggressors here came to have so much hate inside. I know I am incapable of understanding this because I’m not made that way—I don’t hate.

    However, I wonder what would happen if more people stopped asking “How can we fight them,” and started asking “How can we help them,” then things might be different.

    I believe “terrorist” is just not an appropriate word to use because it creates an enemy and when another knows he has been labeled an enemy, there is less initiative to work toward peace. Aggressors are going to such lengths because there is something wrong here and they feel things are unbalanced.

    Does any one else ask why these aggressors feel things are unbalanced and what their needs are? I believe they have taken to killing people because they believe no one will ever listen.

    I have been trained as a journalist and, on some level, I know I’ll never know anything for sure that I haven’t seen with my own two eyes. I, personally, can’t make a fair decision out of a situation I’ve not witnessed for myself. But, the bottom line question I ask is “How do we get the fighting to stop?”

    If there was ever any clearer evidence that we don’t know what the eff we’re doing there, I can’t imagine what it would be. If there is an afterlife Hitler must be green with envy. All the talk about democracy, freedom and free trade is unmitigated bs. The only thing the neocons - and yes many, many Americans - believe in is wealth, power, and influence.
