As Ira Chernus recently wrote about– democracy and empire cannot co-exist. It’s time to choose democracy over empire. Impeachment (or resignations) would merely be the start … let Honesty, Courage, Cooperation, and Beauty guide all men and women to aid of their country– and this planet. I am grateful for the stout-hearted valor of John Conyers.
It seems simple to me. Bush said he would uphold the Constitution. By issuing signing statements and having made one veto he has failed this fundamental requirement. He falsely swore that he would uphold the Constitution. He is denying Congress its role to over ride or accept his veto. Congress is denied its constitutional authority. This failure is significant. It should be simple to demonstrate Bush’s failure in this single aspect. Add the other issues such as failure to follow the War Resolution (read it and you can figure out he didn’t follow that either) and Bush is out. He should be able to be impeached and tried in 30 days max. He will be in the United States for the rest of his life simply to avoid charges of war crimes by an international tribunal. Impeach…Now!
Bush is the puppet. Our government is infected with a growing deep rooted disease. It seems that chasing a dead duck around the table till its term is done and then putting it out to pasture with a fat retirement at our expense is as good a way as any to keep our minds off the truth…who’s got their hands up the puppet’s ass? Who is getting rich from the the blood and pain? Who are the few who gain the most from the sacrifice of many?
The good guys aren’t necessarily working for the best ends. We have come to a time when anyone could be deceiving us and more than likely is!
All is not lost however, if we as individuals took up our personal responsibilities in the matter of life, things could change but it will take quite a change in mind set and real sacrifice!
Big multi-national conglomerates have owned your lives, thoughts, wars, and held the velvet whip for a long time. We have to come to grips with the fact that we are helpless as long as we suck at their feet. MONEY, CREDIT, INTEREST, are the holy trinity of the one world religion that has set the others against all. Get It!!!
Bush says go out and Shop! Think about it…cut off their life line. One vote at a time. One dollar at a time. This is the only power you as an individual has….The OH HOLY BUCK! Quit buying toys to avoid being real. Find ways to live with less. Buy as much of your food from local farmers that you know as people. Shop once a month, like the old days to save gas. Piggy back with a neighbor. Don’t buy new clothes, or cars. Ignore the latest style wear basic classic FREEDOM.
Make them serve you and the people of the world like you…Iraq is a pawn for chaos. The mid-east threat is about manipulation by the puppet masters. Read, Gandhi, Christ, Buddha, The Art of War, look at the history of this country and its bad habits…Korea, Viet Nam, and Iraq…not fought to win but to stress our emotions and sap our resources . We don’t need to know the small stuff we don’t even need to know who these jerks are, all we need to do is ignore them. Stop feeding the monster! Starve it! Stop shopping, stop charging, stop banking, see how long it takes them to get the message that they work for us!
Of course no one wants to give up their cushy life…so it will just go on until there won’t be a choice…the whole illusion will blow up in our faces and then we won’t shop or bank or eat because we will be picking thru the ashes of our own ambivalence. One way or another it’s ALL GOOD.
