   I’d love to see a national “Molly March” that, in her honor, would do what she urged everyone to do in one of her last (or the last) columns: get out in the streets and bang pots and pans, find new ways to ridicule the obvious lies. No one can ever BE Molly, but she died far too soon, and it’s up to us to extend her courage into the darkness in her absence. It feels so hopeless even to suggest it — I can hear the hopeless response even as I write this. But Molly never allowed herself to give in to those emotions, and that’s why we needed 100 million more like her, and there’s only us.

   Molly will always be my hero… she spoke truth to power, over and over and over.

   I took to the streets as she exhorted us on the 27th… I had already planned to do that.. but will continue to take to the streets to protest the surge, the war and this criminal administration.

   Thanks Paul Krugman for a great tribute… you hit the nail on the head, as always.

   We live through hopeful times, it is pity that Molly did not live to see it.

   So far, smart, too much smart people are brave to fight to the last drop of somebody else’s blood. This is why they turned out to be dumb in spite all facts they had.

   Molly did have any other facts available to everybody; but she was ready to fight to the last drop of her own blood. And she did. This is why she turned out very smart.

   Molly warned the country about “the shrub” back before 2000 long
   before it became painfully clear what the Supreme Court would
   cause by its appointment of him to high office. In her books and articles she explained the malfeasance of Texas ‘Good Old Boy’ crony capitalism long before Enron would become the poster child of same
   and Haliburton would shamelessly war profiteer and ‘heckuvajob Brownie’ would exit stage left.

   Molly,
   I miss you Molly, She was is the Classic, Great American Hero. She stood for the truth, and she pulled the covers off of lying, dishonest, war profiteerning, Vermin, like Bush, and Cheney. She saw thru the shallow facade, only to uncover the cowardice, and dishonesty, which they are composed of. compromises, the vast majority, of those in the souless Corporate Media, and the Former GOP Congress. Molly was not afraid to call a person out for their actions..
   She wanted America, to live on, with freedom, not the lies, that bush puts out for his own agenda. She approiately named the little ball less chicken hawk, the “Shrub”. More appropately he resembles the plant that eats blood, in the Sci Fi movie, Little Shop of Horrors. Unfortunately its the blood of our brave American soldiers, who bush and his scum bag loosers, which the administration resemble.,They have, and will not even properly fund the Veterans Administration hospitals, and care programs for our tens of thousand of Mutilated, gravely injured heros who left their body parts on the battle field for the profits of, The Carlile Group, Blackwater, CaCi, and Halliburton. Their deliberate actions have stolen Billions of dollars from our children, and their childrens Children. Its time to put a stop to this Insane tyrant, who has defacted all over America’s Soul and her Constitution, with is BUll Crap Signing Statements. Its time to Start Impeachment Proceedings against this entire administration. It;s time to do it, Now is the time. Bring these scoundrels to the magnifying glass of justice.
   Its time to put Bush, Cheney, and Rice, Powell, Wolfowitz, and mr Crystal into a couple of watermellon Hum Vees, and send them out of the Green Zone on Patrol, let them see the demons from hell they have released in Iraq. When they look in a mirror, they won’t be able to tell which is which, and or tell them from themselves. What the White House really needs is an Exorcism.

   Molly,
   In the short time that I have read your articles you have touched my heart and created laughter of the soul. This is not normal for a dude from the South Bronx. If a white lady from Texas reaches humans like you have inspired me and others of the voiceless…You are indeed a saint and Mark Twain and Tom Paine are providing a super bash for you.

   Thanks you M. Krugman for making some fine points of a giant in surrounded by self-important one-cell leaders.

   Molly’s death is a devastation. Who can replace her? I have loved her from the first moment my eyes fell on her true and brave and funny writing - the only commentator who could eviscerate “the Shrub” without needing to hate him. Sure, we are better for knowing her. Sure, she is in heaven with Bill Moyers’ saints. But I am not consoled. God dammit, she is gone.

    And thank you, Dr. Krugman, for expressing the following: “So Molly Ivins — who didn’t mingle with the great and famous, didn’t have sources high in the administration, and never claimed special expertise on national security or the Middle East — got almost everything right.

    To that I’ll pass along this little nugget of wisdom I heard Dr. Howard Zinn say in one of his recorded speeches: “Nobody is an expert in the big things. We’re only experts in the small things.”

    Ms. Molly’s legacy is much greater than anything Dubya or even any legitimate president could hope to leave. And that would be to trust your instincts when you have obvious truth and justice on your side, and then speak out with conviction AND humor — even if your voice shakes. Not being an expert is probably advantageous.

    She raised awareness and she inspired us all. Let’s try to do what she did so well: Let’s tell the truth and let’s not get taken in by any bull*#@t.

    Let’s seriously stand up for rights. Let’s get the whole sorry bunch of politicians who think they can herd us with their PR campaigns.

    Let’s prove that the people of the United States of America cannot be bamboozled by slick advertising and underhanded publicity stunts.

    Let’s be smarter.

    Let’s all remember Molly who said what we wanted to say but couldn’t or wouldn’t. YAY Molly! Thank you.
