    #4:

    GENERAL STRIKE= PLAN B!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_strike
    http://faculty.washington.edu/gregoryj/strike/

Resistance must be serious because it is the ruling ELITE making the calls for corporate interests — WAR MAKES MONEY for military industrial corporations! IT ALWAYS PROFITS from destruction. BUSH et al are merely proxies for the corporations that stand to gain: big oil and war profiteering corporations… This isn’t about “reason” and “logical arguments” and a “spineless press” or a “weak congress” — war is a natural process of corporate fascism.

Only the general strike has the power to bring it down internally.

The invasion of Iran by the USA is not unexpected, as I had made my comments relating to the USA aggression on Iraq. I made this observation in chinadaily.com.cn, at the outset of the propaganda stage of the Bush softening up of the American people for an aggression on Iraq on fabricated allegation and outright lies.

The main reason for the Iraq invasion was because Saddam had ditched the US$ in favour of the Euro as the currency for the trade in oil; good ole Saddam will not accept the USA $ as the currency for the trade for his oil. Russia, too ditched the USA$, and Malaysia under Mahatir too wanted to ditch the US$ but his successor Dato Abdullah reverted to the US$.

In the case of the American hatched and financed attempted coup d’tat on Chavez, the Venezuelan people smashed the attempt; and it was also for the same reason that the USA did not want Chavez to remain in office, and to my great amusement President Chavez will remain for a very long time to come and the USA has made an eternal enemy in him. Venezuela has already ditched the US “Petro-$”

It is not merely that Bush wants to invade Iran, but more like the American establishment wants to remove President Ahmadinajad because he has ditched the US$ just like good ole Saddam did. Bush knew that Saddam did not have those WMD, but that was not the point, Saddam had done the unforgivable thing, he ditched the US$.

All those world leaders that Bush wants destroyed are men who ditched the US$; and if the MYTH of the USA$ keeps on sliding, then at some point the rivers of printed US$ will flow back to the US and cause an avalanche of a free falling US$ that has zero value. The cracks are already happening, and the soon to be expected brook will turn into a tide.

I can say to Bush that Iran will not be easy.

  3. observer February 3rd, 2007 4:51 pm

Bush is playing mad man as Dick Nixon once did. Or some people in European capitals in July, 1914. Ironically, our ruling class was converted to classic proletarians, they have nothing to loose but their nooses. Their wealth made in New York Stock Exchange and other casinos is mostly imaginable. So called middle class pension funds are figment of imagination either. $30 Trillions of hedge funds are even beyond fantasy. yapchongsan is quite right: the time of masquerade is over. When US$ is ditched out, the light goes off. Then what is left? What is to be done? See respectful title authored by V.I. Lenin, whose portrait reportedly in the office of Grover Norquist, one of the radical Rightists. With such mindset and with genuine fear to lose control, one would not rule out direct dictatorship. Let us see.

The sheepishness of Democrats in spite of clear popular mandate forces me to suspect the worst.

  4. John February 3rd, 2007 5:51 pm

Yes, we are on the edge of the abyss.

If we hold back in fear this darkness will reach out and swallow us. If we act from urgency of realization, we will find our power and voice.

We can no more sit back in the observer’s seat, hoping for a change. We must stride into the conflict zone, and wake up our neighbors.

Our voice must be strong and unrelenting, our words clear and urgent as the moment.

Collective will is generated out of innumerable individual wills awakening to action.

Beyond paying attention, what can each of us do right now?

What is the most urgent thing?

  5. 22poor February 3rd, 2007 7:21 pm

What about a general strike? Would those who organized the protest on 1/27 consider organizing general strikes?

  6. expatincebu February 3rd, 2007 7:39 pm

Bush has already crossed the Rubicon. The question now is can the U.S. pull back from a precipice it has already been forced over. With corporate control of the government and media, unpayable national and consumer debt, loss of almost all manufacturing ability, and rampant militarism, the U.S. is in dire straights.

Perhaps progressives should start planning not on how to stop neocon fascism, but on how to clean up the mess when the smoke finally clears.

  7. small eagle February 3rd, 2007 8:01 pm

Imagine the civic engagement and alternative public institutions a prolonged general strike would give birth to. Since economic collapse is inevitable anyhow, the sooner we start building a genuine democratic society the better…and these sites have some ideas that look good to me: http://www.sociocracy.info/about.html

why not let the idiots have their war and finish off the usa once and for all. it’s over anyway, why drag it out any longer.

  10. bluto February 3rd, 2007 10:56 pm

I’m so sorry, I agree with the message and the tone, but if an author doesn’t know the difference between imminent and immanent, I think there’s some credibility lost.

  11. RickinSF February 3rd, 2007 11:11 pm

    imminent.
    Immanent.
So, bluto, you own a dictionary.
    Congratulations.
Are you saying you’re thrown by a misspelling?

  12. MeThree February 4th, 2007 12:16 am

Goering would understand how the Americans are being handled
by their own government so well.

  13. rkymtnwest99 February 4th, 2007 2:35 am

    You are hilarious.

We can only HOPE all this comes to pass. Maybe we can finally take ourselves down and render American harmless to the rest of humanity.

    And for the three suggestions?

    1. Flood the press? To bother with these cretins is to simply aid the MSM. The best thing you can do is to avoid them completely. There is simply no evidence they are worth your time as far as making any real changes. Forget them, and don’t be part of their audience. Without your participation, they have nothing to sell the P&G, GM, and the rest of Wall Street for advertising purposes. Geeze! Get real!

    2. Push Congress! We “pushed” Congress back in November. They made it clear before and after the election they will do nothing different. What more proof do you need? You have no power.

    3. Join peace groups. Oh boy. Okay, go ahead… bang your bongos, wear funny clothes, march, parade, even send MoveOn some more dough. The powerful love to see you coming (as well as the money shakers that promise to “do something” –with your money of course.) This one is totally useless.

The real power we have is to stop buying anything except food and necessary items for survival. Stop participating in MSM including any news or related programming. If fact, turn it all off.

    Don’t be a pawn.

  14. electionof1824redux February 4th, 2007 4:46 am

It’s over. It’s too late. The Doormat Democrats will rally around “The President” when a fake “Iranian Attack” justifies the bombing of innocent civilians in Iran.

It’s over. It’s too late. Save yourself and your loved ones: Begin storing food and clothing, because by mid-April, we’re going to be starting the Second Great Depression, which will make the last one look easy.

Don’t be stupid. Do you really think that Americans will wake up and flood the streets until it’s too late? Do you really think that the Neocons will listen or back down, when they didn’t in February 2003? Do you really think that the Neocons will make the mistake of not staging Iranian terror and looking like victims to justify bombing Tehran?

Don’t be stupid. Save yourself and your loved ones. It’s over. If you cannot evacuate from the U.S., if you cannot buy a cheap plot of inexpensive dirt in an uninhabited wilderness area, if you cannot even purchase a one-year supply of peanut butter & pasta for the dark age ahead, then you’re in for hard times.

The U.S./Israel is going to drop a nuke on innocent Iranians — the most Western-culture loving, most educated, most Internet-connected, most democracy-yearning population in the Middle East — and Americans deserve what’s coming.

  15. Uncle Buck February 4th, 2007 5:20 am

RE:rkymtnwest99 I understand your dismay. I’ve been leading a simple life for many years now(2001 on), no phone, no tv, no gameboy etc. I can proudly say that none of my earnings have helped pay for the tools of destruction. I do buy gas. I took Thoreau’s words to heart and have chosen this course as a spiritual obligation. The problem is that I can’t convince anyone else let alone the masses to withhold their money. It’s the only way, but everyone will over eat and drink today while watching a football game.

  16. Donnie Joe February 4th, 2007 9:58 am

“The real power we have is to stop buying anything except food and necessary items for survival. Stop participating in MSM including any news or related programming. If fact, turn it all off.”
    rkymtnwest99 February 4th, 2007 2:35 am

Ah yes, the ostrich gambit, followed by run for the hills with a 55 gallon tub of peanut butter. Both appealing, but neither is likely to turn the trick.

I don’t know the answer. I can’t even convince one co-worker that the writing is on the wall, that the powers to be have convinced themselves of some pretty strange concepts. Such as if they bomb Iran, the Iranians will blame their leadership for the pickle that they have gotten themselves into, rise up and and do the heavy lifting for the US by overthrowing their government. To their credit, I haven’t heard the term cakewalk lately, but I’m sure that it’s in there somewhere. If that was even remotely possible, Bush/Cheney wouldn’t be in power this very minute.

The pieces are in place, the frat boys are about to be taught that war is serious bidness (shout out to Molly), and so are the rest of us. I hope you all enjoyed that $300.

  17. hscrty February 4th, 2007 10:57 am

In the late ’60’s my dad would say two things to me I would dismiss. “This country is going to hell in a handbasket” and “China will rule the world”
It has been a long road dad is gone, but it looks like he was right on.

  18. John de Nugent February 4th, 2007 12:17 pm

The posters are avoiding the most salient Iranian demarche: saying the Holocaust story is an embellishment, hoax, excuse to create Israel, etc.

However one views this assertion, Israeli thinkers themselves acknowledge that Israel’s founding was triggered by the Holocaust. It stampeded Jews to Palestine who had been skeptical of Zionism’s doability for decades. In fact, the Atikva (spelling?) national anthem sounds just like a dirge. It is a dirge suggestive of being the survivors of the Holocaust.

If the Iranian/revisionist view prevails that the Holocaust is a Big Lie, then Israel’s raison d’etre falls: “We had to seize the Palestinians’ homeland because, after the Holocaust, Jews had to instantly have their own state.” (Wy? Are they in danger in the United States or Canada?)

If “USrael” (Tel Aviv and Washington are locked at the hip) attacks Iran, then it wil be to stop the spread of Holocaust revisionism–more than all the other valid factors listed by earlier posters.

  19. Uncle Buck February 4th, 2007 2:25 pm

Mr. Nugent, respectfully, all this violence and the melting of our republic has nothing to do with any nation. It’s the work of heartless money grabbers. They respect no one, no nation, no religion, nothing. Let’s not forget the Bushs’ past: Gramps’ investment in the Nazi party, Bro Neil’s involvement in the savings and loan scam, Bro Jeb’s rigging of the 2000 election,Bro Marvin’s security work on the towers and the airports from which the planes left, George’s buddy Ken Lay and the Enron rip off. Need I go on?

  20. Uncle Buck February 4th, 2007 2:26 pm

Oh yeah, impeach them, convict them, bury the dead in Crawford.

  21. moonraven February 4th, 2007 7:09 pm

Ten bucks a gallon! In your dreams!

The US attacks Iran and not only will there be no petroleum exiting the Straits of Hormuz, there won’t be any going north from Venezuela, either.

Poor Mexico and Canada–so far from God, and so close to the United States.

  22. Beowulf February 7th, 2007 2:39 am

While I appreciate some of the content, some vital points are either missed or are merely avoided, to whit:

    1. We do not now have a functioning Congress of, by, and for the people. We have a corporate interest representative body that mouths meaningless platitudes while they in reality support every measure of the corporate majority owner regime.

    2. The entire western community of “representative governments” and citizens is inherently complicit in the ongoing crimes against humanity and the affliction of the innocent whose only “crimes” are their physical location, and their remarkably successful defense of their sovereign rights against enemies, domestic as well as foreign.

    3. Within MENA itself, the despot rulers (puppets to western corporate regime interests for their own personal profit at the expense of their own peoples rights) are also complicit in the longstanding and ongoing crimes against human rights.

    4. The presumption that the Iranian planners will merely do the obvious, ie, strike Israel is a broken reed. It should have been quite clear to all of you a long time ago that the defenders of their sovereign rights will strike….where it counts. I suggest you dust off that pamphlet and start practicing “duck and cover”, for it is YOU the citizen who will pay the price of your citizen ineptitude in the face of the deliberate criminal theft of your citizen rights and the negation of your own statutes.

    5. Most important to the issue is this:

Bush, Cheney, Rice, etc., in and of themselves, are nothing, merely an insult to the intelligence of Texans and a smear on the collective character of honest Americans…as well as a prostituted affront to the integrity of women across the world… it is the corporate cabal BEHIND the stooges for hire in what may have once been a “government of, by, and for the people”, who are the common enemy… of all peoples on the planet… and it is THERE that the strikes must be made and where the known criminal leadership must be made to personally experience the cost of their deliberate crimes against humanity … again for their deluded conceptions of personal material “wealth” and social “control”.

    6. Finally, it is we the peoples of the Americas who must now act, and decisively, in order that that nation may long endure, and in order that the torch that so many peoples across the planet dreamed of and believed in does not become a firestorm of righteous loathing and wholly justifiable rejection in their minds instead.

  23. Bardak March 5th, 2007 10:38 pm

No wonder why de nugent posted this comment. He is a revisionist and believes hitler was the greatest guy and the SS the cream of humanity.
The actual situation between Iran and USA is only a personal hatred between the head of the two countries. Same reason for the war with Iraq.
Terrorists were in other countries but…

Now there are more people that dislike (or hate) the USA and the trust that many countries had for us is lost.
