I applaud this effort! It is long overdue. Zionism is a stain that is poisoning Judaism. It is a virulent nationalism that runs counter to Jewish ethics breeding hatred, racism and anti-semitism. Keinahura!
I knew the Jews would come through — eventually. They have always been on the forefront challenging inequities and making things right. Many of them were sitting this one out for obvious reasons. How stupid do they think middle America is that it wouldn’t eventually realize why they sent their sons and daughters off to die.

I too applaud this effort. Zionism, like any kind of extremism, is responsible for divisions that cause hate and discontent.
The enemy of reason and peace is not any one religion or nationality, it is extremism. It is high time reasonable Jews spoke out against the extremists in their own back yard!
American Jews may be coming around, but Israeli Jews are ahead in their progressive thinking. They realize that escalation and nuclear confrontation will probably claim them among the first victims and that the only solution is peace through the bargaining table.
In trying to aid their Israeli brethren by funding Zionists, American Jews are adding fuel to the fire. They have become participants in the military industrial complex.
An educated people, progressive Jews realize that the Zionist’s bargain with the Christian End Timer’s to bring their biblical Armageddon to the world, is Mammon’s bargain. They sure as hell don’t want to go through another, bigger Holocaust particularly after the Lebanon invasion showed them their limitations.
I have two Jewish friends who suffered much under the Nazi regime. One pulled Big Bertha at Dachau. Neither are still alive but both would be very upset over many of the actions of the Israeli Government that are too much like the Nazi’s who tormented them. They lived and suffered for a faith that believes in justice and compassion. They would be heartened by those who speak up for justice.
I too am happy to see that dissenting voices within the Jewish community are making themselves heard. To most it is not apparent that they do exist as the mainstream media does not let most know about this. Otherwise they would be called anti-semitic.
To most of the world it is obvious that Palestine/Israel is not making any progress and it NEEDS too. Without it a Nuclear War is just a matter of WHEN not IF it will happen.
Too little too late.
I hope that these Jewish dissenting voices in the UK will crystallize the opposition to the Israeli policies elsewhere. It is sad to see that the Jewish communities with a long tradition of support for human rights in Europe and the US , are using now any means ( honest or not) to defend the politics of Israel. In doing so, they have a certain responsibility in the loss of democracy and free speech in North America.
I hope people in the Muslim community be as fair minded as the Jews who are signatory to the open letter. Only then we can hope for peace.

They are free to grow, learn and thrive in a free community. They live in a free country, like the U.S. and Britain, even with the warts that go along with that, as opposed to the oppressive Arab regimes who are jealous of what Israel has accomplished, while they treat women as chattel and participate in “mercy” killings.
