   I’m grateful she’s speaking out. It’s going to take the families to insist that their loved ones not be used as cannon fodder.

   Indeed she is a great mother, educator and mentor to so many. I was just wondering if the rest of us truly realize that we may all be in danger for expressing our opinion and daring to disagree with our own government. I know I am, yet, I’ve lived in and through fear much of my life. I’ve been pushed around, stepped on, threatened, ostracized and punished for daring to speak the truth and for standing up to injustice. At my age, and with all the lessons I’ve learned, the tough times I’ve gone through, I ain’t about to stop now. For in the end, I’m the one who has to live with my conscience. I implore everyone to take time out of shopping, playing video games(and other unimportant daily activities), watch the news, listen, pay attention, read, use the internet as a valuable tool to SAVE OUR COUNTRY before it is too late! Get involved in any way you can.

   Like the brave mother in this article, I had never gotten involved in any sort of political debate, until a US Lt. Col spoke at a Republican debate at South Ga College, which I attended Summer 2006. I had just returned to college after 26 yrs. All of a sudden I found myself speaking up and asking hard questions, even though my whole body trembled. WE ALL HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE TO APPRECIATE WHAT OUR FATHERS, SONS, DAUGHTERS, BROTHERS, NEPHEWS, NIECES, COUSINS, FRIENDS ARE FIGHTING FOR!

   The fact that I am scared about speaking up, as a citizen of the US speaks volumes about the need for doing so. The fact that so many do so despite fear, is a wonderful testament that we realize that the right to do so was guaranteed by our founding fathers and that by affirming and using that right, we continue to fight for that for our children and grandchildren.
