   I truly do not understand why the so-called “liberal” media concentrates on nothing stories like ANS. Sure, it could get a brief mention since she was famous for being famous, but let it go and concentrate on what is important.

   Even the editorial cartoons concentrated on Lisa Nowak instead of more meatier stuff.

   Thanks to Antonia Zerbisias for letting us know what is really happening.

   The media whores will be working overtime devouring the body of the babe from Texas and destroying the lives of a few astronauts. Meanwhile, the White House continues to put America and Americans at risk all over the world. But media whores don’t make up stories they can’t sell.

   so the insane are running the asylym.
   what else is new. when the govt. creates the stories and feeds them to the people through the “press”, then i think we’re in for a big stomach ache. it makes you want to vomit, or beat your head against the wall.

   The media is not liberal, it is corporate, and whatever else may be said of war, it is easy to understand, unlike the paper trail of government/business corruption. Hence, the corporate media owners have a vested interest in the “theatre of war” and will do their part to make sure the show goes on. It takes real journalists to hold the powerful up to the light of day, but any talking head can parrot the falsehoods flooding out daily from the banditos of the Bush administration, so that’s what we get.

   On the subject of media and it’s attempts to manipulate public opinion, I recommend the film “Orwell Rolls in His Grave”.
   If you not seen it, it is must see on the subject.

   I getting tired of reading these so called journalists debate “What is the Bonehead thinking?” He is calling for escalation for the same reason he/they started this nightmare. It’s because it’s profitable for him and the cabal. More war equals more blood money in their soulless pockets. GET IT!

   The media LOVES these diversions. They know
   the public scarfs it up like pigs at the trough, so it gives them a great excuse to ignore the issues that really matter. The good old USA!

   Major Smedley Butler, U.S. Marine hero in Nicaragua in 1912, spoke before the American Legion on August 21, 1931. The New York Times didn’t see fit to print Butler’s speech.

   “I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1916. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenue in. I helped in the rape of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street.
   “I had a swell racket. I was rewarded with honors, medals, promotions… I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate in three cities. The Marines operated on three continents.”

   If you want thoughtful analysis you must read publications such as The Atlantic and the articles published by Common Dreams and its like. But it seems that it is a minority of people that do this. Indeed, my family are nearly all college graduates and admitted that they seldom read past the letters to the editor on the op-ed page of the newspaper. I despair!!

    This has been a problem for years in the US. The “dummization” of the US media started with Reagan, and it went down to where it is now.

    How much lower it can get? Or is it possible to get any lower?

    One example is the case of the CNN reporter asking the Snow at the White House press conference and the reporting of the “conversation” on CNN’s web site:
