   Nonsense. The article is based on pseudo-scientific emotionalism. It represents the worst kind of reasoning there is–an attempt to pass off emotional public opinion as science. The IPCC says that it is 90 percent sure that anthropogenic CO2 causes climate change. This is like being 90 percent pregnant. Science is based on fact, not consensus. I suggest the writer view the following critique, one of many available by reputable scientists who call the whole IPCC scam into question: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article1363818.ece.

   It’s nice to know that there are one or two “experts” left that know more than the 99% of climate specialists who, through years of diligence and scientific study, have reached a conclusion that you don’t like simply because said conclusion threatens the ability of the obscenely wealthy to continue to rape and plunder the resources of our world. This is an activity they, and apparently you, believe is of the highest priority regardless of consequence.
   I’m just an insignificant layman, unlike your exalted self, but it’s fairly obvious that what’s happening to our climate now is not comparable to any natural event that has occurred in the past. This is simply a matter of common sense that, sadly, people who worship money don’t seem to possess in any significant quantity. There are elements in the equation now that have never existed before. The article to which your link eventually leads reminds me of some of the crap I’ve read which “proves” that oil is actually abiotic and that we will never, ever run out no matter how much we use. Anything is acceptable as long as it keeps the dollars flowing. I’m sure, if there was enough money in it, you could find a group of “scientists” who could provide “proof” that the world is flat, that cigarettes are actually good for you or that we really don’t need oxygen in order to breathe.
   Quite frankly I’m past the point of caring what you or other “climate change skeptics” have to say. My only hope is that the scientific community has GREATLY underestimated the time it will take for the coming catastrophe to occur. I would dearly love to see Manhattan up to its penthouses in seawater. Wouldn’t you?

   Jeeze Richard, talk a breath and calm down a bit!
   You might want to rethink your statement that;

   There Norsk people used to farm Iceland! I think it must have been warmer back then than it is now.

   Sure stickboy,
   No doubt they were just cranking away with all those John Deere harvesters pumping millions of tons of pollution into the atmosphere every day. I’m sure, when the harvest was done, they loaded up all that produce in fleets of semi’s, tanker ships and huge cargo planes and sent them thousands of miles so they could sell them to the millions of energy wasting consumers living in all the huge cities full of cars, trucks, subways and all manner of power sucking devices. I hear their huge coal burning and oil fired power plants were the envy of every barbarian tribe in the known world!
   I’m sure they retired to their huge inefficient mcmansions on the weekends where they cranked those air conditioners up to the max.
   Blah, blah, blah…what in God’s name do Norsk (which, by the way, isn’t in the dictionary? Could you mean Norse?) farmers have to do with anything?
   As I said,

   The contribution we are making to climate change through our technology is unique in the history of the earth. Wake up and smell the rotting corpses stickboy. Hopefully the so-called “civilization” of humanity will pass swiftly into extinction. At least that would allow the earth to get on with providing a bountiful life for the creatures that live in symbiosis with nature rather than the cancerous parasite that humanity has become.

   OK cinnamon.
   Let’s wait awhile. We’ll give Bush enough time to threaten, intimidate and brow-beat the IPCC into producing a watered down document that’s a little more favorable to the money worshipping murderers he so admires. Then we can stop worrying about all this global warming nonsense and get back to the serious business of consuming! After all, what else are we good for?
