I believe the President of the USA, George W Bush has been talking to GOD and his GOD must have told him that the USA must invade Iran because Iran is an Axis of evil. It is said that a people deserves the government and President that they elected and the USA certainly deserves George W Bush as their President.

I want to look at the issue of a USA invasion from an Iranian’s point of view. From our experience of the Iraqi invasion and what and how the USA administration had gone through to invent a war of aggression, I have to accept that it is pointless to reason that any alleged evidence are mere fabrication and that there is no reasoning with the USA that what is called evidence are mere fabrication because they know that it is. The second point to bear in mind is that the USA has already dispatched 2 carrier groups to the Med. Sea and positioned for an attack on Iran. These two points alone will justify Iran to pre-emptively strike at the USA fleet in the Med Sea on the pretext of self defense. From this perspective the Iranians have no choice but to attack the USA’s fleet. If I may say so, I believe the USA is playing on the fear of the Iranians because last night the media showed footage of the successful testing of Israel’s anti-missile system. To my way of thinking, I believe that the USA wants the Iranians to know that the USA and Israel have such a defense system in place and that any attempt to attack American naval assets in the Med Sea will be protected by these new defense system. This open display of their anti missile system at this point tells me also that there are doubts that it may prove inadequate.

There is every reason for Iran to attack the USA carrier fleet and destroy the carriers as the first targets. The Carrier is like a queen piece in a chess game; destroy the queen and you will demoralize your opponent. Besides, the carrier is the symbol of American military might and if they are sunk, the pride of American military superiority will sink with it. If I were to attack the American fleet I will fire all my missiles as the first blow; if I had a thousand missiles I will fire them off all at one go. Remove the carriers and you remove American mobility and flexibility. If the carriers are lost, landing men on Iranian soil and sending Gis from Iraqi soil will mean suicide for the Americans. I can say with absolute certainty that if the carriers are sunk, the USA may send all their men of a million if they have that many, will be lost in any battle fought men to men. I say to Iran, attack the USA now.

I weep for the US, Iran and the world. We are being manipulated by war-mongers driven by corporate greed and egotism.

I vigorously disagree with yapchongsan above, as it appears that his/her intent is to see that both the US and Iran suffer.

Stop all war. Stop the madness now. Remove our war-mongering leaders Bush/Cheney/Ahmadinejad from positions of power. They are all quite mad.

I’ve got a better idea for these oil rich invasion prone states: Make the same deal that Bush did with the House of Saud. Let Bush’s oilmen in, deal in petrodollars, use the money to buy weapons from us and forget about Israel. Soon you too will be holding hands with Dubya while becoming invasion proof.

I’ve got one word for you all: Tragishamockery. Bush and Co., LLC’s whole trip is completely insane.

Dr. Paul Siegel writes, “Critics are charging almost daily that President George W. Bush is in ‘denial’ about Iraq…But denial is just the tip of the Freudian iceberg. Psychologically, Bush has been in a more serious state: dissociation from reality.

Dissociation is a more complicated defense mechanism than denial. It doesn’t just pretend that reality isn’t there. It replaces reality with a fantasy world…We see evidence of the president’s dissociation in his assessments of Iraq. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, he still maintains that Iraq is not in a civil war…Long after his generals concluded that we are not succeeding there, he repeatedly declared ‘we are winning.’”

I think Dr. Siegel’s diagnosis is spot on. We must legally remove this man and his cabal from the White House just as one would have cancerous cells removed.

One can understand that Iran would consider a preemptive strike against the US. Certainly the Bush administration has spoken at length in a belligerent and provocative manner concerning Iran. Now, it seems, as though the world is to be treated to re-runs of the disinformation campaign (i.e., lying out loud) that preceeded the present Irag war disasster. One hopes that Iran will maintain composure and not rise to the bait of the Bush administration. One hopes that this time the disinformation campaign (i.e., lying very loud, out loud) will be debunked by the people, the media, and the world before Bush and Cheeney push another false war (a war that has real reprocussions for real people) on the US, Iran and the world.

    WAR RESOLUTION
Even with our limited information on this war, it is all to evident that our legislators erred when they granted this unlearned and arrogant administration the authority undertake this ill conceived war.

The weapons inspectors were there and we had contained Saddam. The resulting “civil war” and chaos had been predicted by many informed experts, and should have been obvious–but their advice was ignored. One can only imagine the extent of disaster if Saddam had unleashed some biological, chemical, or primitive nuclear weapons on our troops during the invasion.

After nearly four years, the only rational option left now is for congress to seize the war powers from the president–and then pursue a logical course to conclude this misadventure. This would include not only recognition of the recent advisory commissions recommendations (which the administration ignored); but also curbing profiteering, and promoting measures for energy conservation and global warming mitigation to reduce our dependance on their oil–and regain some worldwide trust.

The alternative is to permit continuation of this disastrous quagmire, while risking a war with Iran and destabilization of the entire area– and further damaging our international stature.

    ALL TOO RELEVANT QUOTE:

Having worked in the MIC (Military Industrial Complex) for the past six years (got out last week) and listened to the reserve officers coming back home; it is common knowledge that the bombing sites have already been plotted. The officers are only awaiting orders from the Commander-in-Chief. Why is it that our soldiers remain in the region, and a recent troop increase has been ordered?

While the media keeps us distracted on celebrity drunkeness / deaths, the country inches closer to a wider war. We have seen this pattern play out before.

Will we stop it in time?

I think before any President starts a war, he or she should be required to walk down the Viet Nam War Memorial and look at the names of thousands of young lives lost for an earlier lie by a previous President. These “tough guys” in DC have never fought in a war and have no idea of the trauma it causes. Think of the young people who may have become positive leaders of our country who now remembered as names on a wall in DC. Sad isn’t it.

  10. Rick February 13th, 2007 7:39 am

The mainstream media is towing the line again!
Watching CNN lastnight report on the U.S. militaries display of small arms that are supposed to have come from Iran, I could not help but flash back to Colin Powell telling the world about Saddam’s supposed mobil biological weapons labs.

  11. walkingbear February 13th, 2007 10:30 am

Bush and his Cabal have CNN doing their publicity..there is no freedom of speech in the US or for that matter the UK..or for that matter…..
The poor soldiers who have been brainwashed into killing innocent bystanders along with “terrorist” because they are “shit scared” of dying in a forign country, and who can blame them, for a war that is not about freedom, not about right not about liberating a people..but about greed, fear, and want with a “warped frustrated old man (in the Whitehouse) spinning his web of lies and deceit like a scurvy spider” (A ‘prize’ to the person who gets where that originally came from)
Words no matter where they come from are just someone elses opinion, when you really believe that you re getting the “truth” from any news corporation..you have been fooled good and proper. PT Barnham was right about one thing!
Sit back and listen to this piece of truth…not from a politician, news journalist, or media flunky.

If we have to nuke somebody, wouldnt D.C. be a more popular target than those cute Iranian kids in the article pics? Or maybe Crawford?

ROFLMAO, (roll on floor laughing my ass off). The parenthesis is for the government lackeys of this free society who are at this moment culling through the internet for “evidence” to be used to get you, their cash cow drones, to help them privetize it as a means to further isolate you from what your government is and HAS been doing to you and the world for decades.
All you need do now is remove the stars and stripes and replace it with the Israeli flag, suit up and die for Israel. Oh, bring your kids too. If any of you survive, you can laud them as “heroes who served” during the ongoing slaughter of Israel’s “enemies”. You can pay for monuments but you won’t be able to visit them. You won’t have money enough for the $8.00 a gallon gas.
A nation of sheep, led by a cartel of whores, controlled by big business. Welcome, to the REAL Evil Empire.

I’m surprised. There still are a few Americans who have a clue as to what is going on. I hope its not too late. The media has taken over the minds of 99% of our comrades(I have no proof of this statistic) and it doesn’t matter if they are so called liberal or conservative stations. They both support the same status quo. I was happy to see the Democrats win recently. Now there is proof that they are part of the status quo. Otherwise, can’t they see we are looking for a confrontation with Iran? Will they later tell us they were tricked again? Will we beleive them? Perhaps the answer is yes if the media says so.

In response to yapchongsan, taking out our carriers would be a blow but don’t believe for a minute that these countries can defend against a US ground attack. Actually it might give more public support to the current administration. I hope the Iranians are smart enough not to take the bait. It will result in their occupation also and the deaths of many more Americans.

I also fear the use of tactical nukes in such a scenario, which is of course the worst scenerio for everyone.

I don’t pray, but I’m considering taking it up.

  15. sampro February 13th, 2007 1:45 pm

I don’t get it, Clinton can be impeached for getting a bit too close to an intern, but bush can cause the deaths of around 1 000 000 people based on false evidence and lies and no action taken?

  16. Meah Bottoms February 13th, 2007 9:34 pm

Talking about Iran starting a preemptive war is really bizarre. Why would the first writer even say this? Somebody had better get a handle on this in Congress and start talking about it, because the drumbeat is going on about Iran. This is complete madness! We cannot just let this happen again. The Congress of the United States needs to take back it’s Constitutional Authority. If we bomb Iran, our lives will be in even greater danger than we are now from having started a war with Iraq. It is just crazy!!!! Send the guy that fixed it with Korea to Teheran to TALK to them!!! Oh, but wait, they WANT to go after Iran, don’t they? The administration could care less about our kids, and the American people know it!

What are the motivational factors involved in the Middle East?

    Read:
“A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm” policy paper written by Richard Perle
for the state of Israel in 1996
    http://www.israeleconomy.org/strat1.htm

Read the letter written in 1998 to then President Bill Clinton
calling on him to remove “…. Saddam Hussein’s regime from power.”
    http://newamericancentury.org/iraqclintonletter.htm

What is especially significant are the people who signed this letter back in 1998,
people like Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Armitage, and Donald Rumsfeld.

After the terror and confusion of 9/11 in 2001 (which had nothing to do with Iraq),
they were able to implement their planned invasion of Iraq using the deception of
WMD’s and non-existent links between Iraq and al-Qa’ida.

And in the last past 5 years since 9/11, the evidence, the facts, support the conclusion
that Jane’s Intelligence Digest hints at in the following report
    http://www.janes.com/regional_news/africa_middle_east/news/fr/fr030416_1_n.shtml

“All of this lends weight to the theory that Bush’s war is part of a
master plan to reshape the Middle East to serve Israel’s interests.”
