I can see the future, there will be a high-casualty event in Iraq. The # to equal “high casualty”? Pick one. Who will be responsible? It won’t matter, Iran will be blamed. (Just as Iraq was blamed for 9/11 even though most of the hijackers were Saudi.) This is already in motion. When everything is in place the US will pull the trigger, then act surprised, then attack. Iran need do nothing except watch the clock tick. Their fate is sealed. Am I a genius? Hardly, but anyone who isn’t living under a rock, or glued to “Survivor” and “American Idol” can see it coming.
Get this! Bush and his neocon cronies are looking for any excuse to attack Iran. Doesn’t matter the reason. This guy is the most dangerous man who’s ever occupied the White House. Add the religious nut element and we have a recipe for a disaster, even worse than what we face now. Am I exaggerating? Hardly. This guy’s nutzoid!
I am simply horrified. Can no one stop this insanity?
A boardroom coup…
I had predicted some two years ago that the USA will invade Iran under any pretext whatsoever. There are no legal reason or cover for the USA to invade Iran, but that is of no consequence because the reason for the invasion of Iran is the Iranians” launching of their Iranian oil bourse which the Iranians transact their oil sales in Euros. This was also why the USA invaded Saddam and for the same reason. People do not be fooled by the Americans it is not for the reason that they say they want to halt Iranian progression towards building the atomic bomb that the USA will invade but only to destroy the Iranian oil bourse. This is to stop any oil producing nation from getting the idea that oil can be transacted in Euros or any other currency that is not the USA$.
There is nothing that Iran can do other than to dismantle their oil bourse and that the Iranians rightly refuses to do; therefore it is strategically prudent for Iran to prepare to defend themselves. I believe that Iran has every right to pre-emptively attack USA before they are themselves attacked. Why should the Iranians wait with bated breadth? Attack has its advantage and the Carriers in the Med. Sea present excellent targets; ATTACK THE USA and destroy their carriers. That is the first move; this will blunt the American attacking force. The Americans can only do damage but they will never land troops on Iranian soil. I argue for a pre-emptive strike is because no matter what Iran offers as appeasement, it will not placate the USA. The US wants blood and so if nothing will stop the invader then why not strike out first ?
I say to my Iranian friends that the Russians have the technology to neutralize the USA B1 bomber and it is time to get some of those weapons. Yes ! The USA will not be deterred and therefore there is no reason for the Iranians to wait. Striking first is better than waiting. I say to my Iranian friends that their first priority is to destroy the USA carriers, and then to attack the Gis in Iraq because the Gis in Iraq are already sitting ducks. The Shias combined with any Iranian force that is sent to Iraq will more than adequate to destroy the American army in Iraq. Always remember that sinking the carriers will be such a devastating blow to American morale that, the rest will be a cake walk.
Iran is attempting negotiations but the neocons are doing everything they can to make that impossible. It is important that these attempts and offers are widely publicised as that undercuts the propaganda that demonizes Iran and makes it more difficult to justify any aggression by Cheney/Bush. Short of the physical removal from power of this administration, it is vital that we light a fire under Congress to prevent an attack on Iran.
US citizens are prompted to feel shock and outrage that the Iranians are supporting the Iraqi Shiites, but are not told that the Saudis are – as a mirror image – supporting the Iraqi Sunni. As if it should come as a surprise to anyone that a neighboring country might covertly support the side in a civil war which best suits its interests.
Just as, after 9/11, we were told a great deal about Afghanistan’s Taliban and their support of al Qaeda but the mainstream press didn’t ask too many questions about the Saudis.
We can’t go to war with the Saudis. They hold up our economy, per an agreement reached in the 80’s. So they can fund and train all the terrorists they want, and preach Wahhabi fundamentalist insanity to their heart’s content. They can arm Sunni insurgents that kill our children. We will attack someone else.
It is true that Iraq’s fatal crime was threatening to transact oil in petroeuros, and Iran’s is the same (not to mention Venezuela’s). It is true that our economy will collapse when that shift occurs – and it will occur within the next few years. The cartel running this country can’t assassinate democratically elected leaders ,or topple ‘rogue regimes’ fast enough to stop it.
We have built our house on sand, and great will be the fall. We have allowed ourselves to be led by blind guides, and will end up in the ditch we have dug ourselves by ignoring all warnings and clinging to our comforts. We have allowed plutocrats to make themselves rich by squandering the lives of our children.
The only hope I see in all this is God’s promise that the lowly will inherit the earth, the rich will be sent away empty, and those hungry for justice will be satisfied. If I didn’t trust that God would keep those promises and vindicate those who do what they can to mitigate all the suffering our arrogant selfishness is causing, I’d have to go fetal and stay there.
When the neo-cons nuke Iran, what’s to stop dissenting nuclear powers in that continent from joining the fray to protect their interests? Will living a continent away save us from the consequences of such madness? Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) used to be a deterrent. Now it looks like we’re going to sit back and let it happen. Wake up people! Like Molly Ivins, God rest her soul said, get your pots and pans out and demonstrate! Democrats are not going to save us. We have to save ourselves.
