   Oh yawn, haven’t we been here before? As Rogers and Hart wrote for Broadway in another time and context:

   It seemed we stood and talked like this before,
   The words you are saying you were saying then,
   But I can’t remember where or when.
   Some things that happen for the first time, Seem to be hapening again.

   Nuclear weapons, an intercontinental missle capable of hitting as far away as Europe, denials that any war is being planned–this is bad as network reruns.

   But wait, Generals are threatening (privately through unnamed “sources”) to resign and the chairman of the joint Chiefs contradicted the C-I-C about IEP’s being supplied to Iraqi insurgents by Iran, and lapdog Toady Blair does seem to be withdrawing troops from Iraq OOOOO-woo hoo!, now that’s a sexy variation I hadn’t heard before.

   If they’re gonna do it it will have to be by June and I hope I am as wrong as wrong can be.

   There’s hardly any question that the benighted rodent in the White House is capable of launching a nuclear attack. The only question is how to stop him from doing it. The generals should be encouraged to go public with their fears and the Dems in Congress must turn up the heat. My guess is that General Pace and Secretary Gates are already at loggerheads with the rest of the Security Council.

   This leak was most likely done to further threaten Iran. We may wake up on monring and be involved in another war. I don’t think they will back down.

   If they wanted a nuclear free zone in this part of the world the US should not have looked the other way when Israel, Pakistan, and India acquired weapons of mass desstruction. Once the cat is out of the bat its hard to stop.

   I also fear that we will be the first to use such weapons again. We have already proved twice that we will use them. Truly a crime.

   Like you say….who has any idea if its information, mis information or mis-mis information.
   The probability is its done to “threaten”. However like you say..the US threatened Japan in a big way to stop the war in the East before.
   I get the feeling that the Bush Administration (well in name only..who knows how many puppeteers there are puling his strings) are just like the schoolyard bully that hits someone out of fear and guilt..just incase they were going to hit him first.
   I have a real problem with the idea that Bush and ipso facto “The West” would go in heavy to get back brownie points for all the wars that the US has lost since WWII (and thats all of them).
   The only sure fire way to know if Bush and his chimpie friends are lying is to watch the mouths, if they’re open then its a sure bet its a lie.
   Oh and by the way for “developing” read ..already developed, tested on computer, acted in the desert in the US. Worked out how many American military boys and girls will die as a consequence that can be “managed” and will be used as a public denouncement of how the Evil Iran/Iraq government are.
   Its all in black and white somewhere in the Pentagon in simple language so Georgie boy can understand.
   Give the man a Banana and for god sake…. someone get rid of him!

   The dangerous course that the Bush Administration is pursuing with regard to Iran along with the DOD’s rejection of a ban on cluster bombs and the firing of the eight (8) prosecuting attorneys from the Justice Dept are just three more items to be added to an ever-growing list of valid reasons to throw that whole bunch of miscreants out of office ASAP!
