   When Obama declares his opposition to war with Iran, and his intention to immediately withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq, Colombia, Afghanistan, Djibouti, and the Phillippines, I will consider him an anti-war candidate — not until then!

   I hope no one is fooled by this laughably dishonest NYT propaganda. The NYT is like the old Pravda. Its main mission is providing liberal-sounding cover for the US big business establishment. What they are (justifiably) scared of here, is that the public is beginning to despise the 2-party system so much, that it risks losing all credibility with the population.

   The NYT wants to prop up the Dems by pretending that these spineless double-talking worms stand for something. They’re trying to sell us on Obama, Hillary & Edwards, pretending that these smooth-talking charlatans offer the public what it wants — an end to the criminal war. If the Times was the least bit serious about this, they’d be talking up Kucinich & Mike Gravel, too. But there’s a knotty problem with those two — they really are against the war, a position the Times views with contempt.

   So, just watch the non-stop NYT commercials for the smooth-talking Phony Big Three. Don’t expect the slightest coverage of the 2 guys who actually have something to say.

   Here’s the logic: by propping up the Dems, the NYT props up the 2-party system, which in turn is 100% controlled by big business — like the NYT itself, & like all the NYT’s advertisers & investors. That’s who the NYT really speaks for, & why the best candidates, in their mind, are faux “anti-war” Democrats.

   Good points. As somebody suggested here, Kucinich could be the Democrat’s plant to keep progressives from leaving the fold. Gravel’s NI4D brings some fresh ideas that if implemented, could restore and preserve our lost democracy. Though they are the best candidates, neither has a snowball’s chance in this country’s money corrupted “elections”. Since that’s the case, they would be much more believable if they defected to the Green Party and Gore too. What better way to send progressive Dems a signal that there is no progress to be had in the corporate sold out Dem party either?

   Did Obama oppose the bombing and invasion of Afghanistan? Last time I checked, the 911 terrorists were Saudis. We murdered more civilians in Afghanistan than those civilians who died in 911. I reserve any admiration for Obama and any Government official condoning ongoing imperialism. Until they pull our troops back to our supposed Republic, we will not see the end of war.

   Obama exposed himself when he endorsed Lieberman. He is nothing more than an opportunist politician, just like Hillary and Edwards.If Kerry couldn’t make it as a junior senator, Obama doesn’t stand a chance. He’ll be pulled up by the eigth pole.

   Furthermore, one chimp in the White House has been enough.

   Your opinion is always welcome but when you use racism, discrimination, and bigotry in your posts it debases everything else that you had said before it and people will disregard your posts in the future. The use of the word “chimp” here does nothing to make positive change in the world.

   Obama chose Lieberman of Connecticut, the most stridently prowar Democratic chickenhawk as his mentor in the senate. (Lieberman was a Democrat at the time, last year he was dumped by the Democrats in the primary and ran later as an “independent”)
   That seems a very strange choice of mentor for somebody who wants to be anti-war
