   I too support Kucinich 2008, but in the meantime impeachment proceedings against these lunatics must get rolling. 2008 is too late to stop this new aggression.

   Anyone who claims that he has conversations with God and listens to Him is either a prophet or else he ought to be committed to an insane asylum. Mr Bush wanted to get his hands on Middle East oil, but instead he got them soaked in the blood of thousands of innocent Iraqis. He is a war criminal by every definition.

   Mr Kucinich and a couple more are the only members of the US congress that are honest, and I deeply respect. The American people should trade all the rest of them with donkeys.They would be much better off.

   A US attack on Iran would give the US a free one-way ticket out of the entire Middle East for decades. This is not an Administation that good American people deserve, or is it?

   Kucinich is one of the very few Democrats who deserves respect. The rest of them are abject cowards, and the higher one goes in the party hierarchy, the worse they get.

   Yet even Kucinich, even if unintentionally, is being used by the party as a “Left Decoration.” It’s partly by dangling ornaments like him, that the party poo-bahs hope to retain the loyalties of the millions of voters who deeply oppose US militarism.

   In 2004, the party brass treated the Kucinich campaign with contempt. He was useful to them, but they hated his ideas. // For his part, though he’s honest & great on the war & many other issues, he is still implicitly pushing the idea that the Dem Party can be a vehicle for serious progressive social change. I think he’s wrong about that, because the D’s are first & foremost a big-business party, and it’s precisely this, that stands in the way of real social change.

   Dennis Kucinich makes so much sense that he cannot be trusted with the muzzle and leash required to lead most Presidents around. Ditto for Ralph Nader and Mike Gravel. Let’s elect McCain, Giuliani, or some other Republican Disney Animatronic simulation to teach the Democrats to stop giving us “me too” clones.

   “With Democrats in charge of the House and Senate, the President might have trouble starting another war. In light of the vote by the House of Representatives to disapprove of the President’s escalation in Iraq and the mounting opposition to the war in Iraq, the President’s new assertions about Iran hold the key to an attempt to bypass Congressional approval for another military conflict.”

   The question is Mr. Kucinich, what are you going to do about it, and by you I mean the Democrats in charge of the House and Senate? Passing “disapproval” legislation with no teeth in in is no more than grand standing for the public. I think that both you and I know that passing empty legislation will have exactly no affect on what this pRESIDENT decides to do. He has been running with high disapproval ratings since the beginning of the second term that he stole, to no effect. Even if you (by you I mean the Democrats) did pass legislation with teeth in it, and if by some miracle he didn’t veto it, he would just add a signing statement exempting himself from complying with it. Another little item that you Democrats have failed to take him to task for.

   The only way to stop the madness that is going on is for the House to vote to impeach Bush and Cheney both. The Senate then has no choice but to at least conduct a trial.

   Failure to do that will in my opinion result in an attack on Iran, resulting in a widening conflagration in the middle east and possibly the beginnings of WWIII.

   It’s time for the Democrats to step up to the plate and do what is right for the country and the world, time to step up and do what you were elected to do, time to step up and do no less than preserve the Republic. Anything less is a severe dereliction of duty on the part of Congress.

   If Kucinich truly was Presidential material, he would whip the Dems into a frenzy and commence the impeachment process.

   But nooooo, just like the other weak politicos, he is looking to 2008. He cares not one whit for his country, he is just another self-serving professional baby-kisser.

    The obvious and best strategy for progressive Dems to do is to defect to the Green Party. Some leadership in that department could come from Kucinich and other progressive representatives who realize that the Dems are irretrievably lost and are owned by Big Money. What would happen if we all defected en masse?

    1. The Greens become the deciding factor in the elections.

    2. The corporate Dem leadership will realize that if they want the Green vote, they will adopt the entire progressive Green Party Platform and issues: http://www.gp.org/platform.shtml

    3. The conservative DLC will decide that they prefer if the Reps win, in which case they will reveal themselves as leading a corrupt corporate duopoly and the Green Party will get the progressive majority’s votes.

    4. Progressive Dem representatives that are not spoilers trying to keep taken-for-granted progressives in the Dem fold, will join us.

    5. The non-voting liberal majority will come out to the polls and back the progressive vote. In any case, progressives will win.

    6. If Greens win, life on earth may get a reprieve.

    I agree with the poster that stated 2008 is way too late. Congressman Kucinich has stated that they might move to Impeach IF Bush attacks Iran. Congress must move to Impeach BEFORE Bush attacks Iran, which Kucinich openly admits he is moving toward. What are they waiting for??!!

    It’s probably for naught, my guess is that Dubya (really his handlers) will figure out a way to declare marshall law before the election if it looks like the Repugs will lose, or the Dems will get enough spine (or pressure from the voters) to impeach the bastards before ‘08 (highly doubtful).

    I’m backing Rep. Kucinich, for now, for President. He’s really the only Democrat in the race who comes close to talking about the problems that really matter to the vast majority of the people, and is not under the thumb of the corporatocracy, like Hillary and Obama, and probably Edwards.

    We’re being steered, folks, towards what the big boys want you to do. RESIST. Resistance is not futile (yet). Although, I am discouraged enough to feel that, deep down, the bastards are indeed going to (to paraphrase Heston in “Planet of the Apes”) “They blow it up!” – maybe deliberately, for insane religious reasons, maybe accidentally, through brinksmanship.

    It’s not looking good for civilization right now, on any number of fronts. And the one that never, EVER gets talked about is overpopulation.

    Didn’t Mr. Kucinich take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution? Why isn’t he upholding that oath, rather than playing the weakling Democrat that can do nothing more than write another letter. “I shook MR. Bush’s hand and he looked me in the eye…” What a load of crap!

    Hey Kucinich- you’re the Congressman! Introduce articles of impeachment already- quit telling us how bad it is while you are the one in a position of power. Do something dammit- or gown down in history as an enabler.

    ps- if he introduced articles of impeachment, he’d win the election hands down- which proves he doesn’t really want to win. I used to think he was one of the few honest politicians, but not anymore.
