   Ritter’s report underscores the connections of the Clintons to big oil. The nostalgia by some on the left for the Clinton era is clearly misguided. Compared to Bush, I guess Bill looks like a genius, but he’s really just another corporate lackey.

   What I really love about Scott Ritter is how contrarian he is. A former Marine colonel, combat veteren, with lotz of contacts in the intel world who is no pacifist but still has enough critical thinking capacity to know a con job when he sees one.

   Scott Ritter is what Wesley Clark should wish he could be–someone who has not been corrupted by the system. And what are we to say for his pertinent reminder of what a me too neocon that both Hillary and Bill were (and still are)? Thanks for the reminder–some day we will have a competent woman candidate for high office but it won’t be Hillary (or Condi, Feinstein, or Elizabeth Dole).

   Together with Sen. Lieberman, Sen. Clinton is Republican wannabe.

   The Ritter claim that Hillary’s comment in her IWR that said go to UN and demanded no pre-emptive war - namely - “But if we get a clear requirement for unfettered inspections, I believe the authority to use force to enforce that mandate is inherent in the original 1991 UN resolution, as President Clinton recognized when he launched Operation Desert Fox in 1998″ WAS a statement that Bill Clinton “initiated the policies of economic sanctions-based containment and regime change” appears to be a flat out lie on its face.

   In 1991 we had a Bush as President.

   The sanctions that denied chlorine and therefore safe water, causing a preventable 500,000 Iraq deaths (based on pre and post mortality rates), were a Bush idea. Reversing the Chlorine ban was not done by Clinton - and Ritter could have blasted him on this. The medicine purchase difficulties caused much noise at the time - but it was lack of sanitation that killed - just as it does now, having been made worse by the invasion.

   But today Ritter is into sliming Hillary for some reason - with Common Dreams as his media outlet. Scott’s book with William Penn was great - but Scott is blowing his reputation with this article.

   My message here is to Scott Ritter. If not him, those who can contact him directly.

   Scott, you need somebody to edit your articles. Your points are well taken but it takes most people two and three times to read what you wrote - and still we scratch our head wondering “what the hell did he just say” or “damn, that sentence was to long, confusing or such poor English I think I will just go read something else”.

   You are losing your readers Scott. Even those who WANT to read your message.
