   this is speculative, but so was the lead up to the iraq war. at least mcgovern discriminates between conclusions and facts leading to them. it was not so from the bush/cheney administration. when will jay rockefeller investigate the niger forgeries? it is high time for someone to prosecute both bush and cheney for their treasonous outing of a cia operation. meanwhile, congress should be investigating and impeaching both of them. in this world made ever more dangerous by bush’s heckuva job, we need a real president to get started on cleaning up the mess bush/cheney has made. and we need it yesterday!

   Does blood run in Cheneys veins or some other substance? For a man who has had 4 heart attacks,you have to wonder what caused them. To be as impervious to such exposure of his outrages lies makes most of us amazed.He seems to be the case of a shiver looking for a spine to run-up.

   The neocons didn’t out Valerie Plame because of what Joe Wilson wrote debunking the Niger yellow cake story, even though he was right that the yellow cake deal was BS. They outed Valerie Plame because of what Valerie Plame herself had done.

   Valerie Plame headed up the CIA’s WMD interdiction unit. She and her cover company, Brewster Jennings, were responsible for identifying and preventing illicit trafficking in WMDs and related materials around the world. As the article says, it was her job to prevent countries like Iraq from obtaining nuclear technology. She was the top expert in this.

   Remember in the run-up to the Iraq invasion, Rumsfeld said “We even know where they are” referring to WMDs in Iraq. How could he “know” that, especially in view of the fact that there were no WMDs in Iraq. He could only have known that for sure if the neocons were about to secretly plant WMDs in those locations. Then they could “find” them after the invasion. This was their ace in the hole, the ultimate justification for the invasion. This was how they could fix the intelligence and get away with it.

   Valerie Plame’s group deprived the neocons of their ace in the hole by preventing the movement of those WMDs into Iraq. That is what so enraged the administration that they would lash out so viciously. Joe Wilson and his op-ed piece only provided unwitting cover for the career assassination of his wife.

   If this is true — and it must be, with Rumsfeld claiming to know in advance where the WMDs were located in Iraq, and with Valerie Plame heading up that particular CIA operation — it means the Bush administration has destroyed the ability of the U.S. to monitor and interdict clandestine WMD related activity in the world. All because they were ticked off at Valerie Plame, whose actions prevented the false justification for the Iraq invasion that the neocons were counting on.

   Remember the old chinese curse: may you live in interesting times. Well we certainly do. And I really suspect that it will get a lot more interesting. Unfortunately, i don’t think that there is a damned thing we can do about it. I think our goose has been cooked since WWII and the founding of the State of Israel. What still baffles me is how they think they will live on this planet once they have finished their little “project”. These people are absolutely DRUNK on power. And drunk people rarely make rational decisions.

   What’s happened.

   bush&co. got four things done and are looking to get the fifth.

   bush&co ordered the documents to be forged. Who else? Why? Who gains?

   Only one entity gains - the ones looking to go to war.

   One of the most overlooked aspects of this affair is who ordered the documents to be forged? Follow that chain and watch where it goes.

   But no one’s even asking.

   Next, bush&co got to use the false information when needed and has yet to suffer any penalty for lying us into a war.

   Third & forth, Brewster - Jennings, Plame are put out of play so they’re not around to debunk any future Iran intelligence distortions, plus a shot is fired across the bow of the press - leaving fifth - Iran.

   We stop the fifth, we go back to the first , we get them all!

   We don’t stop the fifth … you don’t even want to go there …

   McGovern says: “. . .that somehow nepotism was involved - as if that would somehow impeach Wilson’s negative findings regarding the Iraq-Niger fable.”

   It has always seemed to me that Cheney sought to discredit Wilson by linking him to the CIA–not necessarily to Plame. As every good patriotic neo-con knows, the CIA is a nest of commie pinko subversives, plotting to bring about world government. So, simply link Wilson to the CIA and his motives are immediately suspect.

   Cheney Needs to be Indited for Treason, and brought up on charges Immediately. Its time to Shine the brightest Spotlight in the world on the Cockroach, A Federal Inditement on Charges of Treason, War Crimes, War Profiteering, Racketeering, Murder, and the list goes on………
   If the Senate ethics, and Congressional ethics committe, fail to act, they are just as guilty.

    Those who have studied the rise of The Project for a New American Century know that the group was formed originally around a core of pro-Likud Party hard-liner Jews who then recruited the pus of the crop people from the military-industrial complex.

    Just looking through the early publications of the group shows that the membership originally was comprised of names that read like the Tel Aviv phonebook… gradually adding names like Rumsfeld and Cheney to their signed publications.

    Over the past two decades, a large number of self-serving “think tanks” have been formed around Washington D.C. to push Israel’s agenda and push expanded sales of military hardware… thus simultaneously aiding Israel and lining the pockets of those who ride the revolving door between government and government contractors.

    Bush, being the pinhead he is, was obviously manipulated into “recruiting” some 32 members of PNAC to the very top of his administration.
    Anyone with the devious brain of a Cheney could play on Bush’s outrageous ego and get him to put the foxes in charge of the hen house.

    Together, these people have apparently decided that their intended ends justify ANY means and have done everything in their power to push for their goals… including manipulating intelligence, pumping out false propaganda to the U.S. media, and smearing anyone who argued for common sense.

    Cheney and friends lied to us and THEIR friends like Rupert Murdoch, Reverend Sun Myung Moon, Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, William Kristol, Robert Kagan, Charles Krauthammer, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and many others have deliberately perpetuated the lies.

    We should deport them ALL to Iraq.

    If Valerie Plame Wilson was our top expert in WMD counter-proliferation, then detroying her career must have taken a terrible toll on our WMD counter-proliferation capabilities and efforts. Who can know how much damage this has caused, or will cause in the future. Is it only coincidence that one more country (DRNK) has succefully obtained a nuclear device, and another (Iran) is moving toward the same goal by leaps and bounds?

    Why is NOBODY talking about this?????
