   Fool Me Once …. Again

   President Bush has announced he will escalate the hostilities in Iraq by sending more troops into the civil war. The President’s plan is more of the same, nothing new and it ignores the American people who voted for change in November. The military who disagreed with Bush are gone and a new command is in place. This current escalation is all about putting extra troops in place to defend Baghdad against Iraqi Shia outrage after we or the Israelis attack Iran and Syria. When the neocons talk about “finishing the job” they mean to finish what has been their intention all along; to do in Iran and Syria what they did in Iraq. The president has never explained his strategy. If he did no one would support it.
   Bush forgets to mention that the Saudi’s are the biggest contributors to the Sunni backed civil war in Iraq, as he pins any and all outside interference on the Syrians and Iranians. President Bush was not straight with us before the 2003 invasion and he is not being straight with us now before the forthcoming 2007 escalation. Let the Congress ask this administration the tough questions, lets find out what this escalation is all about. Let’s fight the Bush Administration in the American Congress so we don’t have to fight an angrier world in the Mid-East.

   How right you are, Lobo. Scott Ritter was right on every count last time. Everybody gave him a hard time about what he said. But I think he is a true patriot. He tells the truth. If he says we are going to war w/ Iran we are. But how does shrub plan on getting the oil out. The same way he did in iraq. They still are not back to pre-war levcels. The iranians hate us and rightly so( we have been messing in their affairs for over 50 years) because of the oil. The one w/ the most oil wins!!! This whole thing must be very bad because we are acting crazed about this things. I guess Peak Oil has arrived. I really think women should run the world. I don’t think we would have gotten here. Too much testosterone. Sorry guys. I just don’t get it. All this death and destruction for what a 4,000 sq. ft. house and 4 SUV’s, boy, madison avenue really did a job on us, cause I do believe were on the eve of destruction, but this time we are. So hag on tight cause its going to be one hell of a ride.

   Scott Ritter is a brave and knowledgeable person. Bush needs to keep wars raging to enlist public support for his war profiteering. That he could declare martial law and suspend the next presidential election seemed improbable. Now it seems likely.

   Come on drones! You know as well as I that there’s not enough collective back bone in the US sheeple to stop what Israel, Bush, corporations want! Your free government has been in decline since the powers that be saw how easily they got away with murdering Kennedy, stealing 2 elections, chipping away at workers’ rights. Hell it’s already gone from a slow descent into a headlong power dive. And when it bottoms out, and all your sons, grandsons are being crushed economically and they begin sneaking to South America to seek employment to keep bread in their families’ stomachs, then they might take action. But by then, it’s gonna take a RIVER of blood to correct. It always does.

   I like Lobo’s comment. Unfortunately it’s not just Shrub that has this problem. It’s all those that rally around NAFTA, WTO, IMF, World Bank, and all the rest of the acronyms. It’s all about the bucks (and I don’t mean the kind with horns) and power. It doesn’t matter which party we’re talking about. And this goes back for a lot of years. Maybe it started with Reagon? I think what pisses me off the most is that Shrub/Dick are just do blantant and smug about shredding the constitution, international law, and the will of the people. Like Dick said “You can’t stop us!”.

    What Scott Ritter says is true, We have to stop the funding at all costs, its time to get rid of Nancy Pelosi and get a speaker who has some balls, She has done nothing but kiss bush’s ass.     We need Scott Ritter to run for President. Not that I believe we’ll have a free and fair election when the time comes, unless we all vote absentee and Xerox the ballots, go to neighborhood caucuses and count them ourselves!

    But if it was a free and fair election and we could bring Scott up to speed on what the planet needs to survive for future generations (stop global warming, a world model of single payer “standardized” health care which would include preventive care, birth control, excellent care in the elder years and all the rest). I don’t know his positions on these other issues, but I have a feeling because he’s into telling the truth and obviously is not kissing anyone’s ring, (like AIPAC, the various evil corporations, like the FEDERAL RESERVE!! etc.), he could become a true populist candidate against wars of aggression and lying in office. We need a president who realizes our Constitution is more than “Just a piece of paper!!”, which is how Mr. Bush, our treasonous president referred to it!! “I swear, to protect and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC, SO HELP ME GOD!”

    Remember Minnesota? Nobody thought it could happen when the “WWF wrestler”…Jesse Ventura, ran as an independent, truth-telling maverick and stole just enough Republican and Democrat votes to squeak out a victory! It can happen on a national scale too! Especially if Scott chose a really great and honorable V.P. candidate to run with him right away, like Bill Moyers (a fine Texan who loved Molly Ivins!!) etc. Populism would RULE!! Anyone with a brain can see there are but a handful of Democrats who listened to the people last November!! We need an American with integrity to lead the world away from the abyss we are currently headed toward!! What is being done, in our names, with our tax dollars is purely EVIL and must be counter-acted by us with equal positive energy. Drastic times demand drastic action and we must collectively work to make it happen!!

    One individual in this discussion, Paschn, noted that we are into a “headlong power dive that will take a river of blood to correct.” I agree with the power dive problem, but for me I think the American People can correct the problem with their BRAINS instead of their and others’ BLOOD. I believe in the power of “The Secret”: “SO WE “THINK” IT, SO SHALL IT BE….”

    Everyone watch “Loose Change 2″ and the “Money Masters 1 and 2″ on Google, have some discussion groups and let’s try to draft Scott Ritter and Bill Moyers to be our WWF wrestlers in 2008!!

    And a P.S. that just dawned on me.

    Besides running Scott and Bill Moyers as Independents, we should create a simple Progressive platform of populist ideas and then find the brightest, most charasmatic individuals in every district of the country to run for every seat in the House and the third of the open Senate seats as a PROGRESSIVE SLATE! Because, if there was a miracle and they won, they’d need the backing of the Congress to make changes. This can all be done people!! It’s just simple organizing and Internet fundraising!!!

    I agree with Michael Boyter, above. I spend at least an hour, usually more, every single day writing letters to Pelosi et.al. I have my elected officials on speed-dial on my phone and call them regularly. I just don’t know what it’s going to take to get these people to listen! It makes no sense to say, “We’re against this war and want it stopped! And we’re going to give bush millions of dollars for the war just to show how serious we are!” We MUST stop the funding! What in the hell do these politicians think last November was all about?! I’d like to see The People elect Dennis for President in 2008. REALLY show Washington that we’re sick and tired of the direction the politicians have taken with our once beautiful, wonderous country.

    There is an old cruel joke about the man hired as a mule trainer – when he started by hitting the mule in the head with a 2×4. When the farmer asked him what he was doing he replied “before I can train hime I have to get his attention first!”. The U.S. populace can not be compared with a mule but it is almost completely uninformed about the sonn-to-be war with Iran. The average working stiff commuyes 25 miles to work, has three kids and a firce mortgage, his wife works and the only time they have for news is car radio broadcasts of Oxy-Rush or (ugh) Mike Savage. How to get their attention. There is practically no discussion of defensive or retailitory moves that Iran can and will take when that first bomb hits Iran. Certainly Iran will cease all crude oil exports and shortly after Venezuela will discover the necessity for shut down of its refineries and well for maintenance and repairs. The international oil market goes bonkers and shortly thereafter the U.S. price of gasoline at the station pump goes to $7 or even $10 dollars a gallon! If the U.S populace is informed about that now – before the Iran war starts – that is the 2×4 to get their attention. That is when the letters and phone calls pour into the senators and representatives office. Pre-empt the pre -emptors now. Chavez would love to make a move like that and at no cost to him – at $10 a gallon for gasoline Venezuela would make more money and still have most of the crude still in the ground.
