   If the Democrats insist on nominating and running Hillary for President in 2008 they can count on not getting my vote.

   Not only because of her hawkish record but because her husband was an architect of so called “free trade” which is quickly destroying us economically.

   Zunes’ piece is worth forwarding widely. Many progressives are ignorant of Hillary’s militarism. It’s hard to know if she actually believes in the way she votes, or it’s all been to position herself as a woman ‘tough’ enough to be President. Either way, she is unacceptable to me as a Democratic candidate for President.

   Hillary (am my Senator) has been absolutely unresponsive to questions about her reasons for voting in such a pro-military fashion. I believe that Edwards and possibly Obama would be far more open to reasoning and information to help them take more progressive positions on foreign affairs. My sense is that Hillary is nearly hopeless.

   Though Zunes’ piece rightly portrays Hillary as the most hawkish of the Dems’ “viable” candidates, this hardly means that the other “electables” — Obama or Edwards — are much better. In fact, they’re not.

   Any candidate who amasses tens of millions in corporate contributions (& gets enthusiastic MSM coverage) is, we may be sure, regarded by those corporations as completely “reliable.” You don’t get to be considered reliable unless you play ball with Wall St & the military-industrial complex.

   Sure, they don’t mind if you talk a little pseudo-populist jargon at campaign time, like Obama & Edwards. The big boys are sophisticated, & know that’s just for show. But we may be sure, where the tire meets the road, that any candidate bankrolled by the big boys, is someone they know will “play ball.”

   I will vote for her! The more she is bashed by the left and right, the more she commands my respect. You go Hillary!

   I don’t watch MSM but I do watch C-Span every morning. They often have reporters as guest and they have nothing nice to say about any Democrat. Just because they mention candidates doesn’t mean they are promoting them.
   In 2004 everyone kept saying that Howard Dean was the MSM’s darling. Obviously they weren’t listing because they rarely said a positive thing about him (except he was helped by the internet). They still have nothing nice to say about him.
   They talk about Obama’s fast rise and his charisma, but they don’t like him. I like Obama, he want’s Universal Health Care, an end to Iraq, better education for all, and an end to poverty. Some say he’s not qualified. Well if you read your Constitution there are only two qualifications for president of the USA. Born in America and to be over 35. So he’s qualified. Most ordinary citizens would make a better president then what we have to choose from. So why not Obama?
   So befoe you clame the MSM is pushing certain candidate you should really listen (or read) what they say about them.

   Hillary, along with half the democrats should just display they true colors and join the republican party.

   Hillary Clinton is so compromised a candidate, with such a twisted grasp of politics, such an amoral outlook of world affairs, not to mention her continuation of Bill’s pro mega corp, anti American worker domestic policies, that I can not imagine her having any real understanding of the day to day lives of middle and working class Americans. Nor do I believe that she or her coterie of corporatists advisors give a damn about anyone other than the wealthy.

   As for nesq22; vote for her if you must, but you will be voting for someone who will continue the main thrust of the “vast right wing conspiracy’s” policies. They may be wrapped in feel good sound bites, and you may be thrown a bone or two,[FMLA, glad to have it, IF you have a job], but the BOTTOM LINE will be more off shoring, less health care, more war, and increased attacks on public education. Didn’t like his major policies, and doubt if I’ll like hers.
