   Impeach Now in the order listed below:

   Cheney/Bush/Gonzales/Lieberman

   The sooner we get this dirty business over with the better it will be for all of us. So do it now.

   Can Cheney & Bush be impeached at the same time so that Bush doesn’t get to appoint a VP?

   Lieberman isn’t my favorite senator but what do you think is his impeachable offence?

   Of course, neither Gonzales nor Lieberman can be impeached. Fired, sanctioned, horse-whipped, maybe, but not impeached.

   McGovern is a good man, but history shows that many good men are ignored. Never mind that he served his country galantly during WWII, or that he was a good and decent senator. Never mind that the louts in the White House ducked their chances to serve in the military and are responsible for the deaths of thousands of people. Never mind that they subverted the Constitution. Never mind that Cheney outed a covert ops spy (which is treason). Odds are, the Amerikan people don’t have the stomach or the will to follow through with impeachment.

   It all comes back to us…doesn’t it? Yup!

   The American people DO have the will. We just haven’t figured out the way yet. We thought we got it right in November, but maybe the current Congress will never get a spine. So it’s time to take it to our States and to the street. I don’t have the patience any longer to wait until Jan ‘09!

   Thanks McGovern and hang in there. We’re listening and trying to be heard too.

   George McGovern, whose creditability is virtually unimpeachable, is correct. We have never experienced a presidency such as this and it poses more dangers than the Watergate violations.

   However, until the populace emerges from their apathy/ignorance and forces our legislatorsrs to end this administration’s disasterous sellouts and misadvdntures, efforts for reform will be meaningless.

   Cheney needs to do more than resign, he needs to be charged with Treason, He’s the most disguisting SCUMBAG ever to hold office in this once proud country, Send the bastard to Iraq with his bird gun and let him loose on the terrorists, hes help create with his blood for oil monitary system he’s created. He’s the most evil man in politics, anywhere in the world today. Do I smell Charges on War Crimes? I sure hope so.

   No we can’t impeach Gonzales or Lieberman…but we can investigate, indict and convict them, especially Gonzales!!!

   As far as impeachment goes, let’s not forget SC Justice Scalia…he is definitely impeachable and after all he has done for his good friend DICK, it hardly seems fair not to give him his due.

   Impeach and then on too the Hague.. We the American people owe it to the people of Iraq and the world.
   They the world are looking to us the American people to correct this terrible error and bring justice.Because in reality, we are the only ones that can.
   We need to stop this NOW!It is up to us!
   Lets bring this fight to every steet in America.

   American “democracy” is not working. Despite consensus among the people, those in power ignore our wishes. I thought politicians worked for us. Sack ‘em.

    Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to even consider impeachment is an impeachable offense as well. It is quite obvious that we don’t live in a democracy - a few control the many (Nancy Pelosi cancels out millions) and all of our protesting doesn’t change a thing. People become revolutionaries and terrorists when they realize that crimes are being committed in their name by nonresponsive lesders. Name a single mainstream newspaper that has reported that the invasion was a war crime and that the POTUS is a war criminal. Zero. The United States is a democracy? Ridiculous. The mainstream press is firmly under control and the blogosphere is free only because they know that it is just a sounding board for the powerless, for those whose opinions just don’t matter. All of the opinions expressed in commondreams are just so much hot air.

    I think we need to be a little more constructive Ron. Maybe it can’t be changed overnight, but that doesn’t mean it won’t ever change. I mean come on - we’ve made tons of progress. Abolition - Civil Rights - Women’s Rights - Child Labor. There have been many significant changes. We can get back our democracy too.

    The opinions expressed in commondreams and discussions that are taking place are immensely significant. Our point of view is evolving and that has a lasting effect. The thoughts that are shared here, are changing minds and it’s a great medium for reaching consensus on important issues facing us in these challenging times.

    We are coming together in mind - now we need to organize and take action. Ok - I think we can all agree - putting the dems in office has been less than effective. Maybe it’s time to try something else. It’s been said in a number of places on this site - maybe we need to support a third party and start getting active there - maybe the Greens. For me it has been very rewarding to get involved in Moveon.org but I’m now leaning towards the Greens thanks too thanks to other folks suggestions that I’ve read here. Let’s start looking into it and share our experiences. We’ll all learn a lot faster that way.

    Losing hope and giving up is the only way to guarantee nothing will change. I think it was Margaret Mead who said “Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”

    And bless the peace activits! And thank you for standing up for what is right!

    I think we need to be a little more constructive here Ron. Losing hope and giving up is a way to guarantee that nothing will improve. The articles and opinions here on commondreams have had an enormous impact on my point of view - I’m so thankful for the contribution of everyone that makes this site possible. I can’t think of any other source of news and opinion that resonates more than this one.

    I think we can all agree that putting the dems in office has been less than effective. So lets try something else, shall we? It’s been said before in many places on this site - maybe it’s time to start supporting a third party - the Greens. Also, organizations like Moveon.org are having a greater and greater impact. The more that we organize and act together, the more effective we will be. It’s going to take time, sure, but we can get our democracy back.
