   Go one step further. Any company that is organized in any way to avoid U.S. taxation is not elegible for government contacts. Period!

   Is it possible there isn’t already a rule that contractors would have to be US entities? I agree, if they move, contracts are cancelled. And, it isn’t enough to keep a storefront in Houston.

   Avoiding charges of treason is one of the greatest benefits of Free Trade Capitalism.

   Wouldn’t you love know how many millions have been made by current and former government officials who have insider information and invested in this company before the Bush administration handed Halliburton no-bid contracts.

   And while we’re on the subject of financial benfits from decisions being made at the highest levels of government, why not ask how much profit the Carlyle Group is earning from government war contracts, since George Bush Sr. is a paid advisor to that firm?

   Oh, pardon me, I almost forgot — equity firms are under no obligation to reveal their financial information to the public. But what we do know is that Carlyle is primarily invested in defense, aerospace, telecommunications and health care; and their average yearly returns are around 35 or 40 percent.

   Wow! They make mega-profits on war and then more mega-profits on private and government health care coverage for our traumatized and wounded soldiers when they return from war.

   This is loyalty at its finest! I’m certain that the majority of our citizens are eager to feed these companies more of our taxpaying dollars for this war.

   Some questions are running through my mind.

   Is this move coincidently close in time to the oil legislation pending in the Iraq parliament, opening up Iraq’s oil reserves to foreign companies?

   How much of that “sixty per cent of the world’s oil and gas” that they are running after is in Iraq? How much more profit do they intend to scoop out of the carcass of Iraq?

   Is it also coincidence that Halliburton was dangerously close to bankruptcy because of class action asbestos lawsuits in 2001? Is it coincidence that the Iraq war no-bid contracts saved them from bankruptcy and put them in the black?

   When Cheney left Halliburton to become our Vice-Emperor, he received stock options. I seem to remember him saying that they weren’t worth much and if they ever became valuable, he would donate the proceeds of their sale to charity. I’d like to hear a reporter ask him if these stocks have become valuable yet and, if so, maybe he could donate their value to the returning war veterans bearing the scars of Halliburton’s unbridled greed.

   Rebel farmer is right, If companies don’t pay full amount of taxes, they should receive no contracts.
   also any company convicted of war Profiteering, should be charged with treason, and have all their assest stripped, and returned to the tax payers of America. They should not be allowed to move, until a complete audit of their books is completed. By a honest 3rd party auditor, none or those RNC Or GOP Scumbag, felon, scoudrels.

   You fail to mention that Bill “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton during his administration was a big time user of Halliburton, and the larger holder of Halliburton stock is Lady Bird Johnson!
