   I think the fury is building. I bring up the topic of impeachment every day with strangers, co-workers, clerks, and am surprised that what a seemingly offhanded remark about impeaching the president elicits. There is a thirst for justice and confirmation that we live in a country ruled by laws. The whole cloth of democracy has been unraveling. Structures we rely upon to define this nation have been damaged or left to atrophy because there is a political consultant and his henchmen who put their totalitarian agenda above any other consideration or priority. When the Dept. of Justice, armed services, and the office of the president has their missions perverted and bent to the purposes of big oil, big drugs, big banking, big insurance, and big gun industries; all those who are not millionaires are in the serious soup simmering to a boil. I pray that an overwhelming tide of justice and retribution can wash out the insane sins and obscenities our nation has endured under this administration. Soldiers, teachers, bureaucrats, officers of the courts and the laws who are among the millions bound by codes of conduct, ethical public and private behaviour and most importantly, the truth, [which dosn't care whose mouth it comes out of] are opening eyes to transgressions they would be jailed for, and beginning to speak loudly for the remedies our long established laws and courts were built with blood and idealism to deliver. I heard Ms. Sheehan speak last year in Baton Rouge for the vigil for the fallen we observed again this year. A boy from my neighborhood is gone now and another son is back for his second tour in Iraq. I applaud her cold white fury and add mine to the fire and warily hope to see the day when these criminals are locked behind bars.

   Impeachment of the criminals is an effective impeachment of capital. We should not miss this great opportunity to shove the beast off the throne and back into the harness where it belongs, to serve the people.

   During the last anti-war demonstration I was able to attend in Washington, there was a clothesline with pictures of all the troops who had died in Iraq. As the crowd was moving forward and making room for the line of photos, a man came up and pulled up the rope holding one of the pictures. He announced that this was his son. He was wearing a t-shirt with an identical photograph of his son on the front.

   It was my first and last encounter with anyone whose family member had died in Iraq, in spite of all the rallies I’ve been to and a large group of friends and acquaintances. Perhaps the relatively few families, statistically speaking, who have lost someone is a reason that there is less active opposition to this war than Vietnam. The draft kept the anger alive and kept young men fearful that they would be the next to go.

   In any case, the anger, sorrow, and compassion I felt for the father I so briefly ran into must be a fraction of that experienced every hour of every day by Cindy Sheehan and her fellow sufferers. Cindy is a national hero who tries to overcome her own grief in order to prevent anyone else from knowing what it means to lose a loved one in this way.

   A few years ago, my brother died, and my sister died 5 months later. Neither was due to violence, and the deaths were not related. Nevertheless, there is a hole in my soul where each of them lived. My heart goes out to Ms. Sheehan along with my admiration.

   Cindy - The Wild Woman Wolf Mother has risen in you and has risen in many of us. Her fangs are bare now, and there is a deep growl in her throat.

   In response to a question by Rep. Dennis Kucinich on his website: “Impeachment … Is it time?” the letters in answer when I logged on to write mine were in the range of 5,500. … By the time I finished my answer and submitted it, the number was about 6,500 … all fervently, fervently saying, YES!!!! … IMPEACHMENT OF BOTH pRESIDENT BUSH and VICE pRESIDENT CHENEY … NOW IS THE TIME!

   I submitted mine, and also went to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s e-mail/contact box, wrote her a note about not liking to diss someone behind their backs and sent my Kucinich response, as follows:

   Representative Dennis Kucinich/The HONORABLE DENNIS KUCINICH/Fellow Human Being Dennis Kuchinich -

   Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney and their minions have egregiously violated the mandates and laws of The Constitution of the United States.

   Both the United States citizenry and an inordinate number of members of our human family have been attacked, grievously wounded and deprived in innumerable ways, and a genocidal number of Iraqi deaths increases everyday. … Is approaching a figure of a million deaths enough yet?

   I am more than disappointed that you have to ask whether the impeachment process should go forward.

   It is akin to, but not quite as monumental as Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s terrible declaration that “Impeachment is off the table” shortly after she accepted the gavel of Speaker of the House. What a punch in the gut to those of us who have kept the faith and contributed our time and energy and dollars to help return the Democrats to a majority position.

   Speaker Pelosi’s famous chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies on her office desk to make “her House boys” feel at home as she cajols and shapes and solicits their cooperation on particular votes is not the answer anymore. That was sort of cute to read about many months ago, but decidedly not now.

   Nancy Pelosi spent considerable time talking about the value of our children in her first speeches to the public when she became Speaker.

   There are hundreds of thousands of dead, deformed and diseased Iraqi children now and the numbers increase every day. There are hundreds of children in the United States who have lost their mothers and fathers in Iraq, and the numbers are increasing every day.

   INTEGRITY IS ALL … or isn’t nearing a million Iraqi deaths enough yet? and aren’t the deaths and tragic physical, mental and emotional woundings of our own young men and women in uniform enough yet? … or am I missing something?

   Watching and listening to the Watergate Impeachment proceedings of Richard Nixon, my eyes filled with tears of gratitude and wonder. The dignity and scrupulous attention to fairness and reason exercised by those who were charged with finding the truth of the Watergate matter, and within the charges enumerated in the particular Articles of Impeachment, frequently brought me to my feet in my own living room. “It’s working. The Constitution of the United States is really working. It counts. It’s really working.” At that moment as I shouted and clapped and cheered and cried (and my eyes are filling with tears even now as I remember), I was so proud of the men and women who represented me/us and our nation.

   I was filled with awe because at last I understood what a gift was given to all of us centuries ago through the minds and hearts and souls of the men we call the Founding Fathers. They were imperfect men, but they were the right combination at the right time to change the course of history with their quill-pen writings and then their signatures at the end of a parchment document guiding the way to and containing a magnificent promise and possibility of a great nation and a great people.

   This, the People’s Constitution of the United States, this magnificent document that is the foundation of our nation’s very existence and continued viability and possibility as a land of freedom and justice for ALL … has been trashed, pissed and shit on [the only possible words], violated and perverted by sociopathic, heartless, twisted, greedy, lying scoundrels at the very top of our government.

   The evidence to prepare Articles of Impeachment for the separate or dual impeachment process(es) of Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney certainly is no secret anymore. Evidence of all kinds is all over the place. It has been parsed, defined, written about and presented in innumerable articles and books and on web sites and blogs by brilliant and fair people who certainly would rather not have it so.

   If IMPEACHMENT is not put back on the table and acted on immediately, we and our nation are lost and the rest of the world is in more jeopardy than it ever was before.

   INTEGRITY IS ALL. It is the foundation rock of our very being.

   Without it, the wholeness of our mind-body-heart-spirit-soul connectedness fragments into separate, broken pieces.

   Can there be any dispute that our country is in the hands of severely, … dangerously fragmented human beings. And that is why we are in as much trouble in so very many areas of our nation and the world.

   What and when is enough, House Representative Dennis Kucinich et al.? What and when is enough?

   INTEGRITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT … ALL BELONG ON SPEAKER PELOSI’S TABLE.

   Let us hope someone or some ones together have the integrity and courage to put them there.

   Impeachment schimpeachment. It’s time for war crime trials and nothing less. We are the French and it is 1789. There are millions of us, Cindy. We will hold the criminals accountable. The time for marching and writing letters has ended - no one in power is paying attention. All American patriots have an affirmative obligation to bring the war criminals to justice. Cowards like Pelosi are just as guilty as Bush. Is there one federal prosecutor in this country who will file charges and get the trials under way? Let us hear from you.

   I appreciate Sheehan’s anger, and her tireless efforts to stop this war. I only wish she would direct her anger at the real source of the problem.

   Cindy, look who’s lobbying for another war while this one is still hot. Look who’s demanding more Americans die.

   That’s where your rage should be focused.

   Our country must join the World Court so we can always be held accoutable. I really liked the above comment, “we should respond to our current government exactly as we would respond if we came home and found our landlord strangling our cat”. There is no hell too hot for the people who have in only 6 years, ruined our country.

    I’m not sure anything else ever need be said on the Bush affair. Wow, if I live to be a thousand I’ll never be able to write something like that.
    The only explanation I can come up with re the evil that is Bush, et al. is that evil never sleeps, and I’m not making any pseudo-Christian use of “evildoer”. These people have had decades to try to figure out how to subvert the system, the laudible (not perfect-) democracy that we’d thought we’d built. Reagan thought he’d found a way to lick it, and then Bush I, but each time their formula wasn’t perfect; there was something they had neglected to add to the pot. It took Bush II and his cronies, and the long regressive workup since Hoover, maybe before, to finally bring down the ediface. Though I could never express it as well as Cee Miracles, Bush needs to be wrested from office; he can’t be allowed to leave it “with honors”. Impeachment is the only thing left that will (partly) redeme us.

    Congress is supporting and paying Halliburton and Blackwater MORE than American troops. In a few days they get paid more than what our troops get in a month? Thats bullshit!

    Keep that fact in the public eye and the war will end sooner rather than later.

    What if the whole Middle East situation was unnecessary?
    It’s bad enough that we didn’t need a war in Iraq, but what if we didn’t need the oil? What if the people who are raping our wallets for armaments cash are the same ones raping us for energy money while they keep their secret information about physics and reality behind more Blackwater security?

    You’re only at the mouth of the Rabbit Hole, Cindy. If the American People were smart enough to understand when they are being lied to, they would never send their kids to churches or schools, and they would lynch anyone who even suggested using machines or Systems to count votes or taxes based on income.

    We are not just sheep; we are blind and ignorant sheep.

    Eternity is one hellava’ “play”ground. Each of us as minute, differentiated particles of Light within and as part of THE LIGHT, based on my acquired knowings, have eternity to play with, within unlimited space, unlimited dimensions and unlimited time … so maybe next time around, I’ll run into some kind of incredibly magnificent creation … wherever … and it will be yours, … and I will make contact in whatever way is available … wherever … and “say” something like: “Wow, if I live to be a thousand I’ll never be able to write something like that.”

    If I’ve learned anything, Ipenet, it is that it is all an Adventure; all of us have roles … contracts to fill …; we get as many chances as we need to make the right choices to fulfill them …; and we get as many times around as Eternity IS … and as long as learning and growing and learning and growing and then acting on the best of what we have learned, that somehow … no matter what … it all turns out all right because it all leads back to and gets nourishment from THE LIGHT … and all of IT that we are involved with and in … wherever and whenever … is called LIFE.

    As a father of two sons, I can relate to your loss. Living with such a tragedy is the hardest thing for any parent. And it breaks our hearts to read when you talk about Casey. In order to focus my own efforts toward peace and justice I gave up on the other corporate party and joined the peace party, the Greens. I feel that is the best party for us to unite around and hope you will join us.

    Impeachment is much too mild for this cadre of war mongers, this Oligarchy. The term Democracy is laughable in this context. They should be charged with war crimes! It is beyond me why the spineless representatives, much less the public, allows the continued support for this carnage. It is despicable! It should have been stopped yesterday! Perhaps it is the realization that they too can be implicated with the actual criminal act by their initial, unquestioning support, which is why they continue to stammer and waiver. But, all of this is just the tip of the iceberg that weaves its way back through the nefarious misadventures of Bush I, and on back through the Johnson era, following the murder of JFK. Democracy…what the hell is that? It’s time that Dorothy ignored the pseudo-voice of authority and took a peek behind the curtain to finally witness the actual charlatan puppet-masters for what they really are.

    The events of 9/11 should have been investigated as a criminal offense, in full public view, and never allowed to have been skewed into a pretext for the subjugation, rape, plunder and pillaging of another sovereign. All who voted for this misadventure should be held in contempt. The phrase, we didn’t know, uttered by the Germans following WWII, was unacceptable then, and it certainly should be unacceptable now.

    One thing escapes all the comments that I was reading here. Over 3,000 young men sent to their death, over 20,000 horribly injured for life, and Cindy Sheehan is but one mother. Where are the rest of mothers and fathers? It makes one wonder whether the rest of these war victims were born in a loving family or just hatched.

    Personal debt may be part of our reluctance to speak out like Cindy. Who can suffer the lies and ugly comments that Cindy has faced, plus the possible loss of their jobs if they work for or in a Bush-supporting community? Of course they can’t legally fire you for a political postion, but all sorts of unwanted consequences can follow your taking a stance, or so I rationalize. Close scrutiny of your own personal and financial affairs, for one. This seems to be the modus operandi of those who vilify activists. Who among us has a totally clean slate, or could easily pay the bills and find another job if necessary?

    On the day after the elections when the Democrats had gained a foothold, I “came out” as a Democrat in a workplace I’ve been in for 10 years! I know, it’s a pathetic lack of courage. I am sick of this war, and how our administration has used bullying and lies to gain profit. When Molly Ivins wrote her plea that we get out in the streets to protest the war, banging pots and pans, I finally put a “war is not the answer” and “peace is patriotic” bumperstickers on my car, though I’m aware of the irony that I am going through a divorce. Interestingly, I’ve received no negative comments about either of my little protest actions.
    I don’t know about other folks, but these are some of my excuses. My guilty apathetic assent which collectively let this get so out of hand is another reason. How do you play fair with a cheater who holds all the cards and will lie like hell if you tell on them?
