Our legal system has its flaws because every human system is no better than the people who serve it given reasonable differences in point of view and respective idiosyncrasies, However the system becomes overwhelmed once intentional manipulation is allowed to occur without consequences.
This is simply another of many examples of the Bush Administration’s intentinal twisting of the legal system. Such manipulation destroys the legal system and once the legal system loses its integrity and transparency, so too does democracy.
It is a growing irony that our government is engaged in war under the pretense of spreading democracy while, at the same time, slowly and inexorably destroying ours.
Here it is : the story of justice-meddling in one of America’s biggest newspapers for millions of Americans to read ; not in an impoverished but dedicated-to-truth ,on-line publication like commondreams.com.
If American smokers don’t say en masse, ” that’s it;I’ve had enough and kick the habit just to kick Bush then I’m inclined to think that Americans are the winning wimps of the world who deserve the White House tyranny and deserve to die of smoking-related diseases that the American Surgeon-General warned the whole world about , FORTY-THREE YEARS AGO .

Is there any area of government, the judicial system, the tax system, the electoral system, health care, FEMA, foreign policy, the environment, the Constitution,etc, etc, that Bush’s reign of terror hasn’t worsened, weakened or wrecked? Other than the wealthiest 5 to 10% of the population, has any US citizen benefited from the “leadership” of this half-wit and his enablers? Why wasn’t he impeached yesterday?
Each one took power to save a nation.Each one suspended rule of law,detained people,liquidated them. Each one told parliament what to do and instituted one man rule.each one stayed on “forever” and if there were elections they were the only candidate.Each one had imperial aspirations and fought wars of expansion.Each one ruled over a passive, terrorised citizenry.
Their names . Mussolini,Franco,Hitler,Stalin.
Augustus,and the twelve Caesars and successors.
And now Bush.
Ave Bush. Heil Bush.Get used to it. It will be for a while. You are now an Imperial Power.No longer a democracy except in name.

Never before have Americans experienced such dangerous manipulation of essential scientific data, as used by this administration to derail vital environmental reforms, conservation, family planning– and the list goes on. The resulting long term environmental and social damage are beyond measure, and can only worsen if not curtailed.
Now they are using their judicial selections and replacements of responsible jurists with unqualified and/or unsuitable party loyalists to perpetuate their policies that are guided by greed and theocracy.
The gravity of these unprecedented betrayals eclipses the Monica Lewinski scandal which led to an impeachment, and pose greater dangers than Watergate which terminated a presidency. Blame falls mainly on the five Supreme Court Justices who betrayed their trust by planting Bush in office–over ruling the voters choice; our legislators for allowing these reckless and arrogant policies (albeit under intimidation); and the apathy of the populace for tolerating these outrages which is more concerning than the outrages themselves.
Its time to take back our country.
Talk, talk, talk. As long as citizens continue to vote for only Democrats and Republicans there will be no real change.
The Dems know that people who won’t vote Republican have no where else to go so they really have no incentive to put truly independent thinking progressive candidates up for election.
And as long as everyone is beholden to the party their own integrity is up for grabs. Only independent thinking people can keep their integrity in tact and manage government so that it really works, but we won’t make it possible for those folks to win
It is time for the People to speak with one voice. No more Dem no more Rep. Corrupted individuals shouldn’t be trusted with the well being of a nation like the USA
The issue of tobacco and health is filled with misinformation much as many other issues are. That the government clouds the issue further is to be expected when considering the money involved.
To those that are adamently anti smoking, try some extensive research into the science involved and the data presented that motivated a bunch of repressive laws. If you really dig deep enough, I think you will be quite surprised at what you find. Most of the conclusions over the issue were just plain bad science and politically motivated solutions to erroneous data. But that isn’t so surprising, happens all the time.
